I have been getting warnings when I open about 1/2 of the apps I use regularly that "The application will not work in future versions of iOS". Turns out the reason is that Apple will disallow 32-bit apps from running in iOS11. All apps must be 64-bit. Given that a lot of these apps have not been updated due to likely developers that have gone by the wayside, I have decided that it is of no value for me to go to a 64-bit architecture. I therefore intend to not upgrade to iOS11 regardless what nice features it might add. I know that their spam to update will be concerning but I can't give up 1/2 of the apps I use for the glory of being on a 64 bit architecture.

Those developers don't give a shit about it since they made their money, so why should you? Delete the damn things and call it a day!

I haven't come across that warning yet.
Let's hope most of the important apps get updated by the time of iOS11.

The big ones are already updated. For me it will be a choice between iOS11 and how much I like the apps that are not updated.

Another thing to try if you really need to keep those apps is if you have one of your old iPhones, take the SIM card out and use it as an iPod touch...or find a used 5th generation iPod touch since the last iOS version it uses is 9.3.5

Looking at some of the apps, some are still available in AppStore. I think if they are planning on doing this, they should have blocked them from being purchased new.

After watching the WWDC 17 presentation, I didn't want my iPhone downloading iOS 11 and affecting tons of my apps. So I almost forgot my iPhone was still on the beta software from last year and as of last night, I'm finally was able to downgrade my software to the previous version with help of Apple support, which took a while.

Also I had an odd error, every time I had to fix the software. I had my old apple id email login showing up asking for my password and I couldn't figure out how to remove it, apparently some old apps were still registered to those old login. I literally had to remove every app and reinstall everything to fix that issue. That took forever and I had to reorganize everything, but now that issue is finally fixed.

I can still go and download 32 bit apps from the app store. If they are planning to cut out 32 bit support in September why would they let their customers buy useless 32 bit apps 2 months prior? Still pissed about this. And still not upgrading to iPOS11. I have so far only found a couple or replacement apps for my regularly used 32 bit ones. I haven't checked but i hope they are 64bit.

Since I'm still in the Apple beta program from last year, I was able to start up already with iOS 11.
Not really a drastic difference from 10... I'm still playing around with the settings though.

I'm glad on not on that beta program, I couldn't stand some of my apps not working anymore. I'll wait a couple of months when the iOS 11 comes out.

I've been on 11 for over a month now with no serious issues. They just released to me the 'final version'.

One great thing... my phone was at around 12 GB free space prior to the upgrade to 11, and now I'm at 31 GB free space. I have no clue how switching to the new iOS version freed up 19 GB of space, without appearing to lose anything, but I'll take it!
