I updated early to iOS 12. Nothing crazy different about it, but it does feel more speedy. It has a cool Screen Time feature which lets you know in detail how much time you've been on your phone, and what apps. 4 hours a day so far average... damn.

IRBS may get around to iOS 12 in the next couple of years...

I may update at some point. But my concern is that on a 6S, Apple's "slow that device down" software would likely be in full force.

App opening is snappy, switching between apps is super fast.

I'm waiting for the Siri Shortcuts app to finally appear, I was hoping to mess around with that in the beta but it wasn't included and they're only opening it up to developers recently.

Alright everybody you all can calm down now. Apple added some cream cheese to the up and coming plain bagel emoji.

Here a pic of the up and coming emoji's coming out in iOS 12.1.

I can't wait to put toilet paper and turd emoji together.

How many of you are using iOS12 on a iPhone6S? I am sure it is snappy on an iPhone XS.

Also why should I upgrade just for stupid emojis? I don't use them.

I'm running iOS 10 because I don't want to lose my 32 bit apps that were never ported to 64 bit.

Ha. I thought I was the only one.

I don't know if I should be comforted or scared to be in your company.

I got a notice from my work that the app they use to give me work e-mails will no longer be supported on iOS10 as of January. So now I have to decide ... work e-mails or 16 bit apps.

Touch choice.

Just do it already!

Security is better, battery life is better, performance is better. It's leaps and bounds over anything before it.

I caved and updated. I hate the new font. I hate the new control panel. I do like being able to disable cellular data easily. I will see if it actually makes my phone faster and with better battery. Past experience says no to both accounts.

My iPad will remain iOS10.3.

I have gotten used to the sharper font and graphics. It does seem to start and stop apps faster but the apps themselves remain at the same speed. Battery life has never been great on iOS devices and was not great on iOS10 either but really really sucks with iOS12. I have had to have it on charge for most of the day to keep alive. I know this has stabalized after a couple of reboots in the past. I hope this repeats.

This iOS sucks the battery like no tomorrow. Have to travel with portable charger now to make it through the day.

I can imagine it's probably because of the older device. I run it on iPhone X and the battery life lasts me about 3 days between charge. It's the WatchOS with Series 4 that drains batteries after 24 hours unfortunately.

That is my thought too. Apple has a habit of making older devices behave poorly with iOS updates. At least they didn’t take away the speed which is usually what they do.

I am not upgrading. I like my 6S. Perfect size and has all the features I want and need.

Yeah, same.

I'm keeping the X until the thing dies. I paid it off through Verizon so I'm saving a ton on my bill every month, and I have a paid off device. The features are good, the full screen is good, and there is nothing in the newer models that screams 'I need this now.'

Also, as big an Apple user as I am, I'm not big on paying as much for my phone as I did for my laptop. They need to get back to $499-$599 price points for the ones that don't need 'the most advanced device on the market' and are just looking for phone calls, texts, and GPS (the three things I use most on my phone).
