Iomega Screenplay - Multimedia Hard Drive

I have a bunch of movies that are Divx on my Windows Media Center that is located in my bedroom. It makes it difficult to watch these movies in my living room without putting them on DVD before I watch them.

I was thinking about buying one of these Iomega Screen Plays. Has anyone tried one? If so, give me your reviews.

Also, what is the longest USB cable that you could use. I was wondering if I could still run a long USB under my house to the player and still be able to transfer files from my computer in the bedroom to it with out moving it around all the time.

call me crazy but I've always liked Iomega's products (anyone remember Bernoulli disks?)...I've had those, zip drives, jaz drives and always worked out well...well, except maybe the 2gb jaz drives were a bit flaky in their day

I'd be curious how the ScreenPlay works if you go with it.

Well, I'm going to research a little bit more and probably order it. I just noticed it in the Costco Online Ad and it was $164 plus shipping. This is a better deal so I may order it soon.

Per the spec, 5 meters.

You might look into an Xbox 360. It serves as a media player and can be networked. Oh yeah, and it plays games.

If I could find one for $136, I probably would get an XBox 360.
