Yea, I'm perfectly happy with my Galaxy A70 from late 2019.

But I'm an old man who still uses a laptop for most of my computing needs. I really only use the phone for texts/calls, maps and streaming music/podcasts.

Also, I have my service through Metro...It's one of those flat $50/month type services. I do the same thing with it as I do with my video streaming services which is pay in advance. Right now I don't have to worry about a phone bill until June.
Isn't that the one that explodes randomly?

While I'm happy with my Galaxy, I would like to get a folding phone. But I'm not going to do that anytime soon. They cost about 2k.

Those are a fad. I don't expect this generation of them to last too much longer than the first batch that all failed pretty quickly.

IDK, something's gotta give with the slab phones...we won't have them forever.

They carry cool phones on The Expanse. They are translucent slabs but but they can project cool 3D images all around you.

Why are sifi phones always translucent?

I just ordered the purple iPhone 12.

My iPhone X has served me well for 3 1/2 years. But the battery has been running so hot lately that it drains really quickly.

I thought about waiting for the new release in the fall, but it's not rumored to have major exciting changes.

New phone should arrive on Tuesday.

You do know you can replace the battery for under $100. I extended the use of my 6S by a couple years with that.

I think 3-4 years is a good life expectancy for a phone before it's time to upgrade. I've said before I got mine at the end of 2019. Every now and then it will randomly reboot itself these days but it doesn't happen often enough for me to consider it a serious issue yet. Hopefully I can get another 18 months to 2 years out of it.

Enjoy your new toy when it arrives. Hopefully you won't have UPS issues like IdRather, hah.

Posting from the new iPhone.

They make it so easy to transfer to a new phone. One phone produces an image, the other phone scans it, and voila.

Except.. the process kept getting hung up in the software update. So I did the quick install. iCloud brought in most everything, except I had to get all the apps again.

Which means I'm like 30 apps lighter now, because you realize you ended up with a bunch you rarely use.

Nice! Congrats.

My last Sammy had the same kind of hiccups with their version of that kind of transfer.
My newest one didn't have any problems at all.

It takes a lot of the dread out of getting a new phone, doesn't it?
