All I've been able to find is ATC recordings - have they released the actual cockpit recordings? I'd like to hear what was going on inside rather than between them and the towers. Sounds like he was really level-headed, and it would be interesting to see how things were between the crew as it was all going on.
In situations like this, the crew has got to take their panic-level cue from the captain, and that guy is a steely-eyed missile man. I don't see him freaking out at all. I think he would still be cool even if the wings fell off at 30,000 feet, let alone this "little" incident. 
Are you talking about the recording of the conversation between the pilot and air traffic controller?
