they are so outta touch. artie has a blackberry and only knows how to text......no one knows about blackberry messenger, and they almost all have blackberry. then howard thinks that the iphone can't do lotus notes email. lets be real. iphone can do damn near any email type. its not the # 1 phone for nothing. my wife has a palm centro phone, and that sh*t sucks balls compared to a iphone or blackberry.

Let's face it, they aren't that technically savvy. When Robin is your go to girl when it comes to technology, followed by "Gadget Gary", and Ralphie Cakes; then up to date with the latest and greatest they aren't. I'm surprised Howard isn't walking around with one of the old Motorola phones that look like that Walkie Talkie carried by the guy who always gets shot first in WWII movies.

I used to have one of those!!! It was lighter grey, as opposed to charcoal on Bell Atlantic Mobile. Ahhh...the good old days when all cell phones did was make a phone call. Now your calls are dropped regularly...but you can text to your heart's content (for a fee). :clueless:

i think the bit is getting old...I guess i don't see the point if they have almost the EXACT same conversation everytime. Time killer maybe? How many times do we need to hear

howard - "but the iphone doesn't have lotus notes"
RC - "HEEEYYYYY it DOOOEEESSS have lotus notes"
howard - "oh yeah, but you have to sign in, I don't want that"

To me its getting to be stale.

My first on call 24/7/365 job issued one of these (mine was lighter grey too) to every engineer. That's where I got the "guy who gets shot first in WWII movies" line. We used to joke that when we used these things, we had to keep our heads down. When we petitioned the company for new cells in 1998-99, it was my line about WWII walkie talkies that finally convinced them.

Damn, that whole conversation was killing me. Howard can't deal with ONE thing that he barely uses, but now its the dealbreaker? How about the list of 5 things your Palm can't do and you've got to change it NOW.

No offense to the iPhone fans out there, but most people that talk about how superior the iPhone is, were people that went from a cellphone to an iPhone, not bberry to an iPhone. There's not that big of a difference between the two and most of the amazing goodies that will be added by the 3.0 software already exist in the bberry. Cut & paste? C'mon...

Artie's texting from a blackberry, but doesn't know how to email?? C'mere ya big dummy...
Artie's mad cuz "his bberry" limits the texts to only a few lines? Yeah, its called Short Message Service for a reason...
Howard wants a running conversation? Email your daughter for anything substantive. I can almost guarantee she's got email on her phone too...

I love how everyone is paying a premium to use a SMS service that costs the company ZILTCH to run. Like buying a new computer and paying extra for the basic calculator program.

People need to stop with the F'n around on the phones and get back to work me thinks.
Call me if you have the money or are going to get me the money. Other than that, don't call.

It just seems idiotic. I just recently went from a piece of sh*t flip phone to my first smart phone in a blackberry like a month ago. at first it was intimidating (having all that technology), but after 2 days, I was texting while talking on the phone, using blackberry messenger, had 3 of my email accounts on there, and sending and receiving pics, videos, etc. I mean its really not nearly as hard as they make it out to be. like I said earlier, blackberry or the iphone sh*ts all over any palm phone that is currently in the market.

I thought it was really funny when they were talking about 3G or as Howard said 3 gig.:2funny:

LMAO, I did too. the fact that robin had to correct him, shows u that howard really is an old fart these days. he's got technology that he doesn't even use. howard is the type to have HD in all his rooms, and still be watching the non HD channels just cuz he dosen't know better.

howard has slingbox, tivo, dvr, on demand, netflix, internet, and he's probably still dumbfounded by all of it.

and how can he be so slow when that control board on his console looks like something outta nasa compared to a blackberry.

I'm waiting on the Palm Pre. I know eveyone thinks the Iphone was created by Jesus, but it has flaws. Look how long it took to get MMS and cut and past. Plus no video camera. The biggest thing is no flash compatability. The pre will have all these things from the start. Atleast my good old Treo 755P can send MMS and cut and past.

I knew about the issues with the iphone not having flash. which is absurd IMO. but I didn't know that there was no video camera or MMS capabilities. thats kinda weak.

I already have cut/copy/paste on my iphone. v2.2.1 Jailbroken of course.

Does BB have Kindle? My iphone does. Do BB's have WiFi? I have no idea but just curious. To each his own for sure but for me at least, ( and I've tried BB"s and HATED them), the iphone is for me. Peace.

Again, I have MMS and video recorder on my iphone. you have to jailbreak your phone in order to have these capabilities which is no big deal.

Your right its no big deal to do that, but it sucks Apple makes you do that. Again that's why I want a Palm Pre. Atleast Palm listens and gives you what you want.

Canada Eh!
It is pretty funny that they don't know much, however not everyone in their mid-fifties is very tech savvy.
