I was just wondering. cuz we all know howard, gary, robin, artie, fred, ronnie, and benji are off.

but who has to work? I know jason, will, jd, and john hein work on fridays.

what determines if u work or not tho? is it ur tenure on the show? I think sal and richard work fridays? but does scott the engineer? cuz he's been there forever. what about howard tv. do they not work since there's no show? and also tim sabien works friday too.

I think it's a couple of factors. One of them is whatever terms they were hired under. If they are salaried, they might not have to be there on Fridays, but the hourly employees might have to work Fridays to maintain their full-time (40 hours/wk) status.

It also depends on what work needs to be done. I'm sure that SalandRichard come in to do phone calls and bits, the Howard TV people are probably putting together whatever segments they haven't finished yet and JD would be pulling clips from the TV shows that aired Thursday night. As for Tim, he's an executive, so it's expected he would be there Monday-Friday.

Off on Friday:

Howard, Artie, Benji, Fred, Robin, Tata Toothy, Ronnie.

I bet most everyone else has to work. I wouldn't be surprised if the "10 weeks vacation" also applies to the above as well. I'm sure the "guys in the back" get their own vacation time, but I doubt they get all 10 weeks.

Anyone who has work to do when there isn't a live show works, it's simple. If there's things show related to be done when there isn't a live show, they can still come in and do work.

I know they don't all get 10 weeks. cuz they mentioned the time dave chappelle popped in to visit while they were on vacation, but only jason, will, jd were around at the time.

but as usual, it seems scott the engineer gets the shaft. he's been there over 20 years, and I would think he gets to be off fridays and gets a generous amount of vacation due to his tenure with the show.

benji getting that amount of lee-way is kinda absurd. IMO, he's just a notch above richard/sal, only difference is that he's been there about twice as long as they have. but then again, jason/will/jd have been there longer than richard/sal.

Its whatever they worked out on their contracts, and I say whatever they got good for them.

Side note, Howard TV is an enterprise (or whatever) on its own right, has nothing to do with Sirius? Would part of the deal for Howard have included space for Howard TV? I don't know just wondering and what not.

Howard once said that it is only on-air people (people in the studio) who have off.

Having Scott work makes sense. If someone is in there using the recording equipment, or whatever, and it goes bonky, wouldn't Scott be needed to fix it?

HowardTV / Sirius

Comparable to:

E! / CBS Radio

When Howard's FM show was on vacation, we were getting repeats on E! I'm betting a similar vacation schedule is worked out between HowardTV and Sirius.

It would probably be easy to check. Are new shows appearing on HowardTV during Howard's vacation time?

u act like scott is the only radio engineer working at all of sirius.

Well, if i'm Howard, I want as few people dinking with my studio as possible. I'd say "thanks but no thanks" to any people not bald, fat, lazy, and named Scott.

Someone just called in about this subject.

Howard, Robin, Gary, Fred, Benjy, and Artie get Fridays off. It sounds like most everyone else has to work.

When they first started on Sirius, when they're on vacation HowardTV was pretty much put on hold, with no new content appearing. In time though, that was changed. When on vacation now, although there are no new daily shows, they usually post new content, like behind the scenes stuff and HTV specials.
