Looks like 40s on 4 is taking the hatchet! How can we get this type of music back? Why are they eliminating a very unique channel? :bigcry:

That would be bad news. XM's 40s channel was one I was hoping to get in the future somehow someway.

Sirius had a swing channel. I am not sure why they need to get rid of this channel. This is all still rumor. But I would like some kind of campaign to get that channel back on. With all the extra bandwidth created by eliminating like channels. Why not keep the unique ones?

Yes, first Sirius axed the Swing channel, then they ruined (in my opinion) the Standards channel by playing Sinatra 50% of the time.

Hopefully this remains just a rumor.

I'm sure they have plenty of 40's music on iTunes.

But no, I think you have to look at it from a business perspective. SiriusXM only has a certain amount of bandwidth that they have to play with and they must only keep those that have a fairly substantial audience, if they don't, they have to go. It's just business.

I like to see them bring back Standard Time, plus as long The Sinatra Channel is around. Yea the 40's, Swing music and anything will probably get or stayed axed.

I too was hoping that with the merger, XM's 40's channel would somehow find its way to Sirius... Guess not. :(

They have fired some staff. This may not mean the channel gets the axe.

The only reason they would kill a unique channel is if they were going to bring a Sirius one over to the XM birds which they don't have right now.

Tonight, an announcement was made on the 40's channel that stated that the next weeks broadcast of the Sunday night program "Harmony Square" would be the final broadcast. I have sent them an email asking why. Doubt I'll get a reply but it's no doubt a sign of things to come for this wonderful channel.:(

It looks like AZJoe shows it as staying. I hope us Sirius people can get 40s on 4!

Since it doesn't appear that Moving EZ will be occupying channel 4 we might just be getting '40s on 4.

No word on the Sirius lineup. I am hoping Moving Easy remains on channel 4.

I was reading some place that the 40s is getting axed !
I myself would rather see it stay and be added to sirius.

It is staying at least on XM.

I suspect Sirius is getting the '40s and Moving EZ will be gone, but I sure and HELL hope I am wrong!

The already released info seems to verify it will remain on XM. Just not sure they are going to want to continue programming two different channels across both spectrums.

I just wish they would let us know. Seems some or thinking they will release some info tomorrow, but I have my doubts! :(

They would have gotten rid of ALL of their soft music stations: Starlight, Moving Easy, and The Bridge. All thats left is the crappy love song station. That is just plain stupid.

I set up a bridge campaign thread in the decades forum. Go there and email customer service.
