Help with total recorder

I am having quiality issuses while streaming the music in thru the microphone input on my computer. The sound almost sounds like I had a microphone recording from my external speakers.

I am using Total Recorder and was wondering what experience people have had with this software before I buy it. Any tweaks would be appreciated.
 
make sure the mic volume is turned up and the rest of the volumes are muted. Also you can try the AUX INPUT if you have one available. I believe there's usually a MIC, INPUT and SPEAKERS.
