Well XM is officially done. Sirius is streaming on the XM channels now. My Sirius radio updated but my Inno has not. So far the sound quality is pretty crappy. I am seeing Sirius XM on the channel displays now as well.

Fuck you Mel. Thanks for killing a great service.

I second that. Mel Karmazin can rot in Hell. Thanks for saving me 30 bucks a month. 2 Sirius radios canceled as of tomorrow morning.

Me and the other 19 million subscribers won't miss you. Less people there are that constantly bitch and moan about the smallest things deserve to go.

1) Not even 6 hours into the change and you are already deciding it's not worth it.
2) Are you expecting CD quality? No. Is it unbearable to listen to? No

- I'm assuming you already use your auxilary connection and not the FM adapter. If not, you are the retard here.

3) GET A FUCKIN IPOD THEN!

All we can say to those disgruntled listeners is give the new Sirius lineup a chance. So far, I'm really enjoying it. The programming has been merged seamlessly. A breath of fresh air for Satellite Radio.

It seems he might at least be keeping one because two subs doesn't add up to thirty bucks a month.

Another one whining about channel names... not even realizing how many of the channels with Sirius names are playing XM playlists.

Don't soak too many boxes of kleenex....

And I think that is silly. If it's the XM playlist, why can't it be the XM name? Are they expecting to surprise us when Lithium plays 15 "new" songs in a row? (That might actually be a good surprise.)

OTOH, if you want to go to your iPod with the same 15,000 songs and not bitch about a limited playlist , be my guest.

First of all, I took a 14 hour road trip tuned to lithium without a repeat. Sure I heard Pearl Jam 6 times, but 6 different songs.

Why can't it be the XM name? Well that IS SILLY

Scenario: Joe Blow walks into Radio Shack to sample a radio. You are Mel. Do you want him to turn it on and see "Fred, Squizz, Ethel"????? As he scratches his head. Or maybe when you merge the 2 services, pick the name that is most marketable? Make sense?

Why not name Hair Nation "Bobbi"? It could be for Bobbi Dahl? Or maybe Janie for Janie Lane. Oh wait, Hair Nation is self explanatory...

I always thought the Sirius channel names were better than the XM names. But as far as the service itself goes, I thought the XM name was better than Sirius.

Well paint this DAWG as happy with the channel changes. I know you can't make everyone happy. But I think the complaining right off the get has been rather extreme. Most of the channels I am listening too thus far seem to have deeper playlist.

Listening this morning to the new Sirius XM has been amazing! I haven't felt this way about satellite radio since the day I got my first Roady2 activated. In my opinion, satellite radio has a fresh feeling to it again.

I apologize for writing off XM and threatening to go to Slacker exclusively. I don't think I'll be doing that now.

I really think DRC should do a "Walk The Dog" style event sometime soon. I know this was mentioned in another thread and I don't know if it was answered, but I think having an event like this would be great!

Well, I'm not impressed with what I've heard from the new channels on XM so far. Seems like a lot of stuff with F-bombs on Alt Nation, which isn't XL, and they weren't that common on Ethel. I prefer to have music I can listen to in my office without offending people.

My parents have Sirius, and pretty much only listen to The Bridge and Movin' Easy. Just called her to let her know one's gone and the other's on hiatus and she's just thrilled... :hah:

See when I got tired of Sirius' lack of quality, I got XM and now I can't do that. I'm not canceling today, but I am going to bitch and complain if I don't like what I hear. If you don't like my bitching and complaining, don't read or cancel your membership.

GO BACK TO SBS!

see how retarded that sounds

That's what she said! :p

But seriously folks, I actually like this change on the XM side. Riding in my parents cars will be more enjoyable now that we can listen to the Underground Garage. On the Sirius side, I'm happy about Willie's Place and the addition of Bob Dylan's radio show.

Does anybody know if Jay Thomas will be on XM? He's moving to Sirius 108 which isn't on XM, but I think he should be on XM somewhere.

Naturally, changes were going to occur. I don't think that they are that bad. I will be listening to some new channels in the future that appeal to me. Just make the best of the situation or drop your subscriptions. As far as the complaining is concerned, personally I don't think they are going to make very many changes because of the complaints. Then know they will lose some subs.:yesshake:

He's kind of on XM.

Friday 7 - 10 AM ET on Howard 101. It repeats on the weekend, but I don't know when. I think you can hear the repeat on Saturday night eastern time, but i'm not sure.

You'll obviously need the best of Sirius package, and I don't know how this show differs from his other show on Sirius Stars, but he -is- on XM in a way.

Yeah.

As I said, the channels between 4-9 were blandly named, and the "Squizz, Ethel, Lucy, Fred, etc" names were a bit vague for me.

With that said, XM sounds like "Xtreme Modulation" or "super radio" which is a better name for a satellite company.
