People born before 1946 were called The Silent generation
People born between 1946 and 1964 are called The Baby Boomers
People born between 1965 and 1979 are called Generation X
And people born between 1980 and 2010 are called Generation Y

Why do we call the last group Generation Y?

Y should I get a job?
Y should I leave home and find my own place?
Y should I get a car when I can borrow yours?
Y should I clean my room?
Y should I wash and iron my own clothes?
Y should I buy any food?

But a cartoonist explained it very eloquently...

Gen Y is way too broad.

There is a huge gap between 1980s babies and 2000 babies.

Generation Y in my opinion starts roughly in the mid- or late-70's and ends in the early 90's.

Generation Z (or Generation @ ) started in the mid-90's with the Internet boom.

At any rate, the Baby Boomers and Gen X are running things right now, and you see the results...America in the shitter ;)

My birth year 1979 would be right on the edge of either Generation X & Y, but some Generation Y stuff would fit me. But I do like Generation X, because I got two words for yea! "Suck It"

I'm Gen X. I've written about this. Kids born around the turn of the century are called "Millennials" are they are generally considered by employers to be less douchebaggy as a group than Gen Y.

The Boomers have screwed us. The Greatest Generation set them up to rule the world, and all we've gotten is blow jobs in the White House, endless wars and a pile of debt. Way to go, shitheads.

My mom was born before 1946 and she's not silent.

I was born in 1965, so I don't really identify with Boomers or Gen X. Both groups look like hippies to me.

The OP was a joke people. But I am laughing harder at all the self psychoanalysis. I noticed CF blames everyone but himself as usual.:lolsign:

By definition I am a baby boomer but feel more like Gen X.

It should be 1980 - 1989 at the most

Gotta allow him some leway to make the joke. Sometimes you guys are so literal!

At any rate, the Baby Boomers and Gen X are running things right now, and you see the results...America in the shitter ;)
Thats cause the Gen Yers are too busy hanging at the street corners with their pants around their ankles instead of helping out.

Free home cooked meals, laundry service, and housekeeping. Why not?

Without trying to get political, I think the problem with people in general today is that people actually believe the above statement is true.
I believe that Casual still lives in his parents basement. . . . . :idunno:

I've lived in my parents' basement and my grandmother's basement at various times...most recently in 2006 when I changed jobs, moved out of state, and was waiting for my house to sell.

For the record, I've never lived in any relative's basement.

Houses in Houston don't have basements. If you try, they just fill up with crude oil.

I thought it just came bubbling out of the ground when you were out a shootin food.:idunno:
Hell, you should build a basement, get paid, then you could move out of the god forsaken state and move to Beverly. . . . . Hills that is . . . . .
