I just pre-ordered my Black Note 4 yesterday on Sprint at Best Buy, using their Note 4 trade in promo. The Promo states: Trade in any working smartphone and they'll give you $200.00 BB Gift Card to use towards purchase of a new Note 4.

The fine print says no water damage, no cracked screens, and the device you are trading must be able to power up. You have to pre-order in store by 10/16 and buy a $50 BB Gift Card in Store to hold your reservation. They will take your trade in and price matches on the day you pick up your new Note 4.

I can't believe they are going to give me $200.00 on trade-in for my HTC Evo 3D.

My wife has an even older Evo 4G (2011) and was eligible for upgrade from her GS3. She is also getting a Note 4 in Frost White on launch day (10/17). Best Buy is giving her $200.00 credit for her worthless Evo 4G. We are going to keep our current phones as backups (GS3 and Note 2).

From what I understand, even phones as old as the palm pre are eligible for $200 on trade in!

Final Cost for each new Sprint Note 4 on a 2 year contract after trade in and Amazon Wireless $299.99 2 year contract price match? $99.99 plus tax per phone. Its a no-brainer for me to upgrade.

I really wanted to switch carriers this time around, and was looking to switch to T-Mo's $30/mo Walmart Plan... until T-Mo didn't work in my house at all. I test drove an iPhone 5s for 7 days and their coverage and the iPhone was terrible. I looked into AT&T and it would have ended up costing me more money. Verizon... well... forget them.. LOL.

Anyone else taking advantage of this crazy promotion?

I've been thinking the Note 4 is where I'm heading. I wasn't going to pre-order because I want to find out how the battery life is first, but $200 off has me thinking about rolling the dice. I should see if my old backup phone is on the list.

Hectic, any working smartphone you have laying around is worth $200.00.

Even with a 3220 mah removable battery, the battery life should be pretty decent. If its not good enough, then I am sure that ZeroLemon will come out with a higher capacity battery that will solve any battery issues....

My store told me that their promo accounts for any smartphone. It doesn't have to be worth anything to trade it in (unlike the samsung promo, where your old phone has to be worth $10 to qualify)...

When the rep at the store told me that my Evo 4G, 3D, and even my buddy's 5 year old Palm Pre qualified, I think my jaw dropped and hit the floor.

We will see what happens on launch day, but for now, I am shocked that they will accept ridiculously old phones for this deal.

I just dug through a box of old phone stuff to find my old Droid X to see if it would still boot for a trade in. It does after a short charge. I also found my old Samsung Omnia. It's a phone I haven't used in 4 years. It STILL HAD ENOUGH OF A CHARGE TO BOOT UP! It hadn't been charged in probably 3 years.

Suck that any phone currently on the market.

I went to BB Sunday and compared the new iPhone 6+ with the Note 4. Both are very nice phones. The Note has a bigger screen but the phone is smaller than the 6+. The Note 4's screen is everything I read about. It's amazing the screens they put on these phones. I ended up pre ordering the Note 4. The screen and the great trade in deal got me hooked

With the 6+ I didn't feel like I was upgrading much from my S4. I can understand going from an older iPhone to a 6 or 6+. My S4 has had a 1080P screen for what 2 years now. So I felt like I wasn't getting my money's worth. The Note 4's QuadHD screen is super sharp and the best I have ever seen on a phone. Plus the build quality is really nice on the Note. Apple always has great build quality so that is a given. So with that great trade in deal $100 is worth it. They have some deals for trading in iPhones for the new 6. I know Verizon had the trade in an older iPhone and get the new one for free deal.

Hectic you should go check out the phones at BB. I think you will love the note or the 6+. Their very nice phones. I just couldn't pass up $100 for the Note 4 with that screen and how quick it is. Plus it comes with 32 gigs standard with a microSD slot.

I think I'm heading over on my way home from work.
I cleared the data from my old X, and read up on the Note's battery some more today at lunch.
If I like the feel of it, I may pre-order tonight. Never really thought I'd be inclined to do that.

If you think the 6+ is better than the Note 4 and you currently own an S4/5, then you must be crazy.

The 6+ is equivalent in most specs to the Note 2, which I purchased in November 2012.

The Note 3 would be a better phone to upgrade to than the 6+.

For $100 on a 2 year contract after price match and $200.00 trade in at BB, this is a super great deal for anyone who wants/needs a new phone. Once you own a Note, you'll understand how nice it is. The only things I dislike are the Knox Bootloader and Touchwiz. Its a small price to pay for the specs, screen, battery life, and options this phone has.

Hectic, check it out tonight. You should be glad you did. It seems big at first if you have never had one, but that wears off quickly. I love my Note 2. I cant wait to have the 4.

You have to pre order to get the $200 off. It's big but not that big.

I have to agree with you there. I've checked out the 6+ on youtube and read all the reviews. I checked out some coworkers phones too. One thing one of the BB reps said kinda stuck with me. He said if Samsung, HTC or Motorola put out a flag ship phone with a 720p screen tech sites and other people would give them shit and call those phones midrange. He said Apple does that with the 6 and adds some features that have been around for years and it's like the second coming. I get his point and all but the 6 and 6+ are really nice phones.

I think we should all remember their just phones. That is the way I see them. When I upgrade every two years I just want to get my moneys worth. I just didn't feel it this time with the 6 or 6+. Maybe next time. I love my iPad mini though.

Thats the exact reason why I didn't rush out to upgrade to the Note 3. It wasn't that much of an upgrade from the 2 in my eyes, and I wasn't feeling it. The 4 is a big enough jump over my 2 that I considered upgrading, but then the $200.00 BB GC pushed me over the edge and I bit hook, line, and sinker.

The iPhone 6 and 6+ are nice if you are an apple junkie and are attached at the hip to the Apple Ecosystem.

If you had the 4, 4s, 5, 5c, or 5s, then the 6 or 6+ is a huge upgrade.

Apple could have done more with their new iPhones though. It seems like they are falling behind in technology to Android based phone manufacturers now. I have always said that not having a removable battery or SD Card slot is a deal breaker for me.

I went in and checked one out. It was a BEAUTIFUL screen. The size wasn't too bad in the hand either.

They weren't able to take preorders by the time I got there tonight. Like they have a daily allotment. They said they should have more tomorrow. What the hell? Apple doesn't do that to people. Sure, their servers crash, but they are taking all of those orders at once.

I can't find the deal on the BB website at the moment either. BB is almost as evil as VZW.

From what I read online. This is a BB promotion. A lot of them are sold out of pre orders. You might have to check back with that store or try another. Their selling very well. Not iPhone like but pretty Damn well.

Go to the BB site search note 4 and it should be at the top. Yes Its a beautiful screen. I was really impressed.

I went in last Wednesday night around 7PM, and Sprint's black Note 4 option was greyed out for the reps. They couldn't order me one. I went back this past Saturday Morning at 10am and it was no problem.

BB's website is very vague about the any working smartphone for $200 deal, but the reps in store should know about it. The deal is that you buy a $50 BB GC at time of order to use when you pick up your phone. When you come back on 10/17, you bring in any working smartphone with no damage other than normal wear and tear and they give you $200 towards the purchase of your new phone as long as the old one powers up.

You have until 10/16 to pre-order the phone. Thats all you have to do until 10/17.

The BB deal eliminates the need to mail receipts back and forth to Samsung and then wait 6-8 weeks for their promotion to cut you a check...you get the credit up front at time of purchase.

Because you are with VZW, your phone should only be $299.99 on contract. The Sprint version is $349.99 in store, so I will have to have them price match Amazon Wireless or the Sprint Store at $299.99. Then they give the $200.00 Giftcard, so I will pay $99.99 plus tax.

The hardest part is pre-ordering the phone. Samsung made this whole promo with BB so confusing. Its been changed 5-6 times since I found out about it. Between the changes and the limits on how many each store can pre-order per day, its pretty dumb.

I am glad you liked the phone. The screen itself is worth the trouble that Samsung is creating. The Note 4 pre-orders have been crazy at my local Best Buy from what the reps said. Not as bad as the iPhone 6, but still, they are hitting their daily limit of black almost everyday of the pre-order from what they said.

I found the link again. It didn't show up in my iPad the first time. I had to browse for the ad.

They said that for the last 2 days the preorders would become unavailable from time to time. PITA. Fortunately, BB is right on my way home. If I had to go out of my way, I wouldn't waste my time on a return trip or two to save the cash.

I have a relative that's thinking of going from an iPhone 4S to the Galaxy Note 4. I hope she gets one.. I'd like to see it

Thats a monster upgrade for your relative... and will be worth every penny, as long as they don't mind leaving their iTunes account behind.

To go from a 3.5" screen to a 5.7" screen.... I can't even imagine that.

You can always check out the LG G3. It has a beautiful quad HD screen too. I compared it with the 6+ too. Same size screen in a smaller package. Lots of great options.

I had to do some running around this morning and tried the BB by my house, and they still couldn't place any orders. I tried another one that's next to work just to see if they could do the preorder at that location. That guy was better informed, and said that they were sold out of the VZW version of the Note 4 for this sales district. They don't expect to get more for this promotion. The guy at the first BB took my info and said he'd give me a call if more became available. Oh well, it was worth a try to save $200. Without the discount, I'm not worried about preordering. The 2 stores I tried are in my normal travel routes, so I haven't really invested much energy into it either.

BB is goofy as hell. The kid gave me a call saying that they had them available again around 4:00. So I stopped by again on my way home. I was surprised that they actually had one available when I got there around 6:30. $200 is $200.

Thanks for the tip Blue!
