I wouldn't mind throwing a few albums worth of MP3s onto my Slacker portable to play through my car stereo (especially a few new songs I've heard from bands i like that slacker hasn't bothered adding yet) but when I put them on the player through Windows media player they go on in the most random order ever, and I can't get them to organize by track number. Any idea how to make it work right, or is the thing only useful for holding songs and not albums?

I agree that this is confusing and painful. It actually puts the songs in alphabetical order by song title. The best thing to do is add 01, 02, 03, etc before the tracks to play in the right order. Things to note: use two digits because otherwise 11 will play after 1. When I do this through WMP, i rename the first track then click on the second to edit, when i cursor is flashing, i hit delete and the down arrow and it automatically numbers the song. I stumbled upon this accidently but it works well and is much quicker. Hope that helps.

I'll give that a try. as long as I can temporarily rename them and then name them back after they're synced (having the song number showing up before every song wouldn't look right with the way I have my Squeezebox network player setup) it'll work.
