Folk Village has Returned on XM 15

Great news...I thought it was well endangered.

I just truned on my XM Radio for the first time today and XM15 said PARTY CITY. :2funny:

The PAD DATA then changed to the normal FOLK VILLAGE.

Yeah the graphics are already updated on my XpressRC to show the Village channel icon with the country category wallpaper!

No. The Village is an XM only channel that plays Folk Music. Very well programed. They axed it during the holidays and some of us were getting nervous that it wouldn't be coming back. Its the kind of channel you know Mel hates. Sirius had an excellent Folk channel prior to Sept 05 called Folktown, but it got killed for the Coffee House, another rock channel.

Have listened to The Village since back when it was Folk Village on XM. It is a great channel.
Glad it returned.

I emailed sirius and they said they have no plans at this time of putting Village on sirius' playlist.

I miss my folk on Sirius since 05.
Many of us wrote but to no avail.
So I just got a new car with a
6 cd changer and loaded it with
6 hours of folk!!

Bums. Really why at this point are they tinkering with the channel list on a seperate basis like this? If a channel gets added or taken away it should be on both sides.

Damn, I want this channel now too. It sounds like it'd be great and a lot better than coffee house. Which is the closest thing we have to it.
