I have one of those FM Direct Connect units from several years ago. I feel like I've asked this before, but if I want to buy an FM-MOD02 for iPod or phone into my car, can't I just connect the two devices without having to undo the whole front end of my car??

They pretty much both do the same thing but you wouldn't be able to use both at once. If you use the FM-MOD02 you can use it for other devices and for your Sirius radio. But can't use the FM Direct for other things besides a SiriusXM radio.

So I'd have to remove the FM Direct or could I connect the FM-MOD02 into the FM Direct where I would normally plug the Sirius dock?

You would have to remove the FM Direct and install the FM-MOD02. Then you would need use audio cables to plug in your Sirius radio or other devices into. But just DON'T try using both the FM Direct and FM-MOD02 at the same time. Not that anything bad would happen, just not meant to do that.
