This can be a good channel at times, and it is the only place on Sirius-XM right now to hear punk. I think perhaps they should change the format of Faction to only PUNK music like what used to be played on XM 53 Fungus and Sirius 29 Punk Channel. The rap and hard rock mixed in with the punk on Faction can be heard elsewhere. They should keep Tony Hawk's show and all of their other personalities- I'm not saying do away with them. Just retool the music to make it the punk channel we no longer have.

I haven't had Faction on since the merger. I should tune in again. I used to listen for a couple of hours at a time once or twice a week. It was good stuff.

Ellis just seems to rant too long for me....he's good to a point. But once he reaches that point, he begins to get increasingly annoying. Opinions are opinions, though. I'm sure he has his fans as well.

My main gripe about Faction is the limited play list. There are several songs that get played over and over. Sure, most of them are good songs, but I don't want to hear them ten times a day.

Faction has so much to choose from, since they are playing punk, ska, hard rock, and hip-hop. There is absolutely no reason for its playlist to be limited. I don't listen to this channel a whole lot personally, but its sad if the playlist is shallow when it doesn't have to be.

My thoughts exactly. They seem to be trying though which is good news. They have a "DIY Radio" contest on the go which may provide them with some listener input and new material.

Contest details:

DIY Radio is fun. I've been listening since they first started this about a year or so ago. Maybe two years. I even was selected to do it. However, laziness set in and I never sent in my cd's 'show' and playlist. But the choices each week vary and usually play some interesting things.
