Huh, I laughed out loud, as I always do when Howard and ARtie do their Middle Eastern Stereotype accent. I also laughed at the "flag made of shit" because it was funny.

I didn't realize that I was supposed to get all of my political thoughts and IDEAS from the HOWARD STERN SHOW. How foolish of me to listen for entertainment purposes and look forward to getting a laugh or two.

Surely I hope the people of the Kandahar and Jallajabad that crowd around their SIRIUS SATELLITE radios know that Howard and Artie were making JOKES and only pointing out the fact that there ins't much enjoyment to be had in Afghanistan.

Oh well, looks like Howard and Artie won't be getting those Ambassadorships that I'm sure they were counting on.

Thank you for this wonderful thread and I now see the show in a whole new light--it clearly is a failed political talk show that has somehow gone off topic for the last 30 years. thank god Howard and Artie were able to reel it back in for a few seconds to get to the main topic of the show--solving the middle east crisis.

Nothing funny about 20 minutes of total contempt for an entire country...nothing funny about Howard's repeated declaration that we should conduct indiscriminate bombing of any country in the Mideast when a terrorist event occurs... (unless you write for the New York Post) Years ago one of our navy ships shot down an Iranian passenger airliner and killed everyone on board..all or mostly all civilians... Howard and Robin sang a song parody about turbans floating in the water and shit like that... these were dead men, women, kids, old people...how can that be funny? I have heard it replayed a number of times over the years .... I love Howard and I know he exaggerates for effect, but he obviously thinks the lives of certain people (like Arabs) are slightly more valuable than those of cock roaches...

If you want real diplomacy, try G. Gordon Liddy or just call up your Senator or something. Don't listen to the Stern Show to save the world--He puts retarded people in a room and weighs how much they poop for 24 hours.

If you want real diplomacy, try G. Gordon Liddy or just call up your Senator or something. Don't listen to the Stern Show to save the world--He puts retarded people in a room and weighs how much they poop for 24 hours.

I got it the first time. The subject of my post both times was entertainment.... what is funny and what is not funny. What is funny is purely subjective. In my subjective opinion, five minutes on the shit ponds of Afghanistan is funny....20 minutes on the whole country being shit is not so funny ...to me. His declarations about bombing the AArabs has never been an attempt at humor and thus is not funny...So we are discussing the same subject... You just happen to have a different opinion.

Good point. Artie is an excellent authority. I am sure he saw a lot of Afghanistan during his one week or so tour of army bases. He may have even met an Afghan.
Haven't been to Afghanistan but I've been to India and Nepal, wonderful places, and spent 13 months in uniform in Vietnam - another place dismissed as a shit hole with a rich history and dynamic people.
