Canada Eh!
What are your guy’s thoughts? It sounds like he isn’t going to budge on the money issue and who knows if SiriusXM is going to give them the money they want.
I hope he stays. I enjoy the show and it makes the last 2 hrs of work a lot easier!

I hope Bubba stays and I hope they pay him decent this time. If they give O&A more money then Bubba then he will leave. He deserves to be treated right and hopefully they will step up to the plate this time.

I love the show. Listen to it not every day but at least 2-3 times/week. Good young, raw, FUNNY talented group.

I think they'll be back.

I hope that SiriusXM will realize soon on how many fans he really has.

I have to assume that if he's coming back it has to be for enough money to ditch the terrestrial gig. I can't imagine him spending another 2 years (he just said he wouldn't sign another 1 year deal) working 14 hour days.

I really hope he does get another deal and I think Sirius should respect the FTE's that supported this radio format from the start. I'd have to assume they'll be P.O.'d if he's gone.

I hope not but my guess is they'll underestimate bubba and offer a so-so deal...I wouldn't blame him if he decided to go 100% terrestrial-Jones.

I don't care for Bubba as much as I did before his new terrestrial gig, but if he left Sirius it would leave a BIG hole in programming. And given the relatively small amount of budget it would free up, I wouldn't expect that they would hire anyone all that great to replace him.

Brian Whitman is looking for a job. He does fantastic impressions and is a pretty big talent. He was half of a pretty decent comedy team on radio in Los Angeles...until he quit.

He wouldn't appeal to Bubba's audience, I don't think, but he is funny. I wouldn't expect Howard/Tim to have a replacement at the ready, let's face it. There would be hole in programming. Perhaps it would be filled in by some "Best of Each Day" programming?

If bubba were gone, the only person worth of being on H101 would be Ferrell. I don't listen to his whole show every day, but I do tune in regularly and enjoy it when I listen. With only 2 years left on Howard's contract I think we'd get stuck with someone lame or a mix of temporary shows similar to the ones they play in the 4pm PST timeslot. Or maybe Kidd Chris? I've never heard him, but he's out of a job and looking for work. And as the person who recorded "The Sulu Dance", he is worthy of a chance in my opinion!

I love Brian Whitman. He could do fake Tom Leykis everyday and it would be funnier than the real Leykis. I don't think his super dry sense of humor would be as understood in that timeslot for some reason.

Bubba has built a very very large audience. I think it goes in phases where some listeners are alienated and mad at him for various reasons, but they wonder back.

The fact is with Bubba his love of SIRIUS goes up and down and it's just where it lands when the time comes.

OK...trust me on this one. His Leykis is great, I agree, but have you heard his Larry King? He did it the other day on Adam's show. Download the podcast 10/9/8 and look for the segment called "Larry King". Whitman riffed on Larryisms for about fifteen minutes while Adam giggled like a little boy.

Extremely funny stuff, his impression is scary good. Sort of like that guy that does the Arnold impression.

I couldn't find a link fast enough. I will look though.

Larry King, Kenny Kingston (oh sweet spirit, garbo :jj: ) Leykis, Rick Dees, Al Rantel, his list goes on. I think him calling into other shows is great.

I haven't listen to Bubba as much as I use too, but I don't think he will be leaving. Who wants to leave satellite radio after being on it for couple of years and go back to FM.
