I'm listening to Disorder but never really did before...they just played "Beyond the Sea"...I get it..you're edgy. Seriously, though, it's a shame to get rid of a station like this. Meg rocks!

Vin will be on the Loft and Meg will be the Spectrum. I have a feeling she will be adding a lot of cool music to the Spectrum. Meg seems to do that on any channel she is part of, so I will be monitoring the Spectrum for awhile to check that out.

+ 1

It would be really nice if The Dharma Cafe, Celtic Crush and Tearson's Bob Dylan Radio Hour would surface somewhere. My week won't be the same without them.

I just tuned to 50 on Sirius, not The Loft at this time. Anyone know the channel?

Sirius channel 29.

Also, no Vin Scelsa this morning. I guess getting the signal from Studio V to Washington DC requires more time. Maybe the transition team can assist.;) I'll miss my weekly dose of "Give Me Some Truth".

Well......this could be cryptic. I just opened the email from Sirius announcing the Big Change. The copy for The Loft reads:

"Great singer/songwriters of the Laurel Canyon of the 70's, to the modern day troubadours. Shows from Lou Reed, Vin Scelsa, David Johansen and more!"

Maybe The Loft will become the new Disorder!

Judging from today, it's going to be The Loft with those Disorder shows stuck in somewhere. Bleh.

Best news to date so not Bleh here for me!

Well, at least you're happy about something.....:p Judging from your posts, you're a hard man to please.

Sonically I'm having a hard time finding a difference between Loft/Spectrum/Coffeehouse. The Loft has more artists I'm not familiar with, but the overall groove is pretty much the same as Spectrum.

I'm really missing the "intelligent chaos" of Disorder right now. Stupid capitalism, where the lowest common denominator wins every time....... :(

A poster on Orbitcast this morning claims to have received the following in an email from Jon Zellner:

"I got some great news from Jon Zellner regarding Meg Griffin. She'll be back in a few weeks and will have spots on the Spectrum and the Loft."

Of course, she's already on The Spectrum, but if true, she will have a "spot" on the same channel many of her orphaned children are reported to be migrating to. We'll see.

And since I'm rumor mongering this morning, more confirmation in the form of an email from Mike Marrone to a poster on XMFan:

"I just received this e-mail from Mike as I was concerned about Jerry and Franny:

I am extremely busy right now, fixing web sites on both ends and getting this thing going. I appreciate your concern but you have absolutely nothing to worry about. Vin, Lou Reed, Dave Marsh and David Johansen’s shows are all coming to the channel. Jerry and Franny aren’t going anywhere and things really couldn’t be better here as far as The Loft goes, except for my workload the next few days"

So lets give it some time. We might end up with a very disorderly Loft!

Brother, I seriously hope that email is true....

I cannot wait for the Mansion of Fun to return.

I will be going through tremendous DT's until it's back.

And I can't see much reason for The Loft to keep its current format. There's already at least two similar channels on the band. Give us some eclecticism!

Sweet news from Mike Marrone!

"The David Johansen Mansion of Fun Show" will start Wednesday 11/26 at 12 AM (ET)... in other words MIDNIGHT Tuesday (ET) and will air at that time every week.

I liked Disorder, but I'm liking The Loft too, in a different way. I don't see it as anything like Coffeehouse actually. The Loft is 10x better IMO.

Jaspear

Thanks for the news! I hadn't heard that.

What a bad time to be on the West Coast, though..... I pretty much have to be getting ready for bed at that time because I work so early in the morning.

Hopefully, there will be a mid-day replay of the MoF coming soon....

Bob Dylan Radio Hour news

Here is some news I found. Too bad, this was one of my favorite shows.

Sorry to hear of the discontinuation of the Bob Dylan Radio Hour hosted by Michael Tearson on the Sirius Disorder channel, a casualty in the merging of Sirius and XM. The show often featured Dylan covers. Michael is a frequent contributor to this site.

One of my favorites as well. Michael is now doing a six hour shift every day on Deep Tracks. You'd think they could find room for it over there. It certainly fits the "deep" format of the channel. Maybe Bob Dylan doesn't want the competition. ;)
