It looks like there's only two portable ATSC TV's on the market today. One from Radio Shack and the other is available on-line at Best Buy. With the switch from analog to digital only coming very soon, you would think there would be more choices available.

With Ipods, PSPs, Zune, Nintendo DS, laptop computers, even smart phones, who needs a portable TV these days. I imagine the market for portable TV's is very, very small.

It's because the ATSC standard doesn't really support mobile devices yet. See ATSC-M/H - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia for info on the proposed standard.

I wish they'd get their sh*t together already! February is coming soon. You would think that they'd have a standard by now. I need (want) to watch "live" tv.

I think the market for portable TVs is pretty small. I haven't watched a portable TV since the 70s.

It probably is a pretty small market but still important to some people. Just think of all those buses and limousines that will only show static unless you have a DVD. I know plenty of people that have them to watch football in real-time when they aren't at home.

I REALLY hope they figure out a different way to do this. 19.9Mbit/sec is barely enough for a 1080i HD stream, and adding MORE strain on it is the last thing we need.

Look what happened to satrad when they overspent their bandwidth.

I would think motorhome owners would be in the market for Digital Portable TV's . I own an older motorhome and just received the $40 coupon in the mail for the Digital Converter Box. Walmart has the converter boxes for $49. I will opt. for this instead of investing in a Digital Portable TV.
