Denver has been crowned “America’s Cannabis Capital†by marijuana advocates, TheDenverChannel.com reported Tuesday.
When medical marijuana dispensaries are calculated per capita, Denver beats out all other cities, the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws reported, according to the Web site.
Denver City Council voted Monday to regulate medical pot dispensaries, the Web site reported. To date, 390 dispensaries have filed an application for a city sales tax license to sell medical marijuana, City Treasurer Steve Ellington reportedly said.
This number indicates there are more dispensaries in Denver than there are Starbucks coffee shops in the whole state of Colorado. There are 208 Starbucks in the state, TheDenverChannel.com reported.
Compare that to Los Angeles, with four million residents, which has one dispensary for every 4,065 residents. Denver’s population is a mere 598,707, but has one dispensary for every 1,535 residents, according to TheDenverChannel.com.

coooool...but one has nothing to do with the other. Pot dispensaries cost maybe 1/10th of starting a starbucks and the pot place's overhead can be grown by the owner.

Here's the thing, Starbucks has been suffering a lot the past year or two, and has been closing shops left and right. Not that big of a deal.
