I don't know about the rest of you, but IMO Death Magnetic is an excellent record, top notch, 5 star, kick ass record. Finally Metallica put out some good stuff. Only been 20 years since Justice. Death Magnetic if fucking great though. My favorite is All Nightmare long, I can't get enough. The whole record is great overalll.

Speaking of great records by the two best heavy metal bands of all time, Megadeth: United Abomonations is a 5 star record as well.

PS I was one of the lucky ones that went to Ozzfest 2008 in Dallas. I tell ya, Metallica give you your moneys worth, they played for over 2 hours, the concert didn't get over until around 1:30 AM. The other two Ozzfest I went to were over at 11:15 at the latest. I would of been happy paying the 120 bucks just for Ozzy and Metallica!

agree 100%. best metallica disc in a while. This morning on my drive into work, I wanted my fix of "All Nightmare Long"! That's currently my favorite song.

The way they offered online distribution was also VERY cool. I paid like 25 bucks to get access to missionmetallica.com. They put up a lot of cool old concerts, and a few full shows from this summer (including Ozzfest). They even has downloadable MP3s of a few new songs in the couple weeks before the album was released. Full songs, not crippled in any way. Then the day before DM came out, I got an email with a download link to get the MP3s. It was very cool, and well worth the extra 10 bucks over buying the CD at the store.

I just went into a Wal Mart and how fucking depressing that place is. I want to get the new AC/DC but the fact that they are charging $11.88 speaks volumes. Most major release big label releases are $9.99 the first week they come out. Lower prices indeed!

Best album they've put out in over 15 years. Rick Rubin did a great job producing. Unlike many albums today, Death Magnetic has strong tracks from the beginning to the end.

I f'ing love this album. I've been a Metallica fan since the 80's. I know allot of people don't like anything after Justice but I liked it all. But Death Magnetic is defiantly their best since Justice. My fav track is Broken, Beat & Scarred.

Do any of you guys know the band In This Moment? Their first album came out last year. Its called Beautiful Tragedy. Their new one just came out a couple weeks ago, called The Dream. The second is defiantly not near as hard as the first but they're both good albums.

Walmart sells CD's? It always pissed me off that they only sold censored versions. I guess that's one way to make sure the "little snowflakes" don't get their ears "soiled" Anyway, I am listening to the sound clips for the new album off of amazon, and I hate to say it, but I'm not impressed. :( Maybe I've been listing to too much Dethclock or something.

Walmart has an exclusive deal with AC/DC on the new album. Also, I don't think they sell JUST censored versions anymore...I've picked up some Megadeth cd's and whatever "foul" language is intact.

Love the new album. I joined the 'Metallica Club' to get good tickets here in chi-town and mission accomplished. Got like 8th row.

Anyone wanting to get tix for shows not yet on sale, good ones can be had through the metallica club.

Death Magnetic does not disapoint....the sound quality is poor in my opinion though.

I get to see them in December...the setlists look good.

Download the "Guitar Hero" mix. It's a pre-final master version. It's not quite as "hot." Hell, I bought the CD, but my downloaded version is the one on my iPod.

I went to the Metallica concert and it was awesome!!! The bands that opened up for them was The Sword and Down. The Sword was ok, but Down was pretty good.

I have it already...but thanks for the tip.

I have the DECEiFER REMiX.

Makes me wonder...if down the road we will get a proper version from the band.

I find it deplorable that this is what they wanted...I have a hard time listening to the original with my headphones on.

I saw The Sword at Ozzfest, I kinda like 'em. I would love to see Down, I'm a big fan. I did see Super Joint Ritiual once. Hardcore stuff.
