Looks like starting in the wee hours tomorrow through Thursday we get what is left of Beryl up here. 40-60mm of rain in a very short period. The good news is it will be cooler than the heat we are in now.

I think we've been told for 10 straight days that a massive earth-shaking thunderstorm is coming. Hasn't happened yet...
My entire episode of Jeopardy! was plagued with that freakin' alert at the top of the TV screen, along with the occasional "air raid" sound. But it was not for my county even.

Mrs. Scotch was frustrated by all the NH political ads we'd see at certain times, so I looked into it. The eastern part of the White Mountains (like North Conway) are not serviced by the southern NH TV networks. So our TV broadcast, from Portland ME, serves that area. And aside from sharing political ads, we get storm warnings for all of the northern counties in NH too; plus all of Maine.

I, too, distinguish sherbet from ice cream. The Dictionary-dot-com website explains the difference – and makes a concession to the ignoramuses who believe sherbet is ice cream. It isn't.

"Sherbet is a creamy frozen dessert made mainly from fruit juice or fruit purée. It typically contains only small amounts of dairy products, egg whites,and/or gelatin. Sherbet is technically not ice cream, even though they both can contain fruit and dairy products. The big difference is that sherbet’s main ingredient is fruit juice or purée while ice cream’s main ingredients are typically milk and cream. Still, they’re close enough that many people likely consider sherbet a type of ice cream."

We now return you to your regularly scheduled "Damn! It's Hot Out!!!" discussion.
