land of confusion
just watchin the news here in kansas city and a local family has had season tickets at kansas speedway since they first opened. i guess they ended up misplacing the tickets and when they called kansas speedway they were told they couldn't replace the tickets but instead could purchase them again. luckily the family ended up finding them.

Here is the problem I have with this. At Nascar races, they only cut off the tickets, they dont scan them like they do at most stick and ball venues. So whose to stop any ole schmuch from getting those misplaced tickets, and selling them. Nobody would know until you got to the stands. But if they scanned the tickets, no problem, youd replace them like candy.

They have scanned my tickets each time I go to Bristol for the last few years. I know BMS is not an ISC track, but maybe ISC needs to come into the 21st century.

That's horrible! I really don't know what the solution is though. Like what was mentioned earlier, I can only remember my tickets being scanned @ Bristol. I don't recall them doing this anywhere else. I can tell you this though. This past spring after already going through the line @ Bristol we went back out to do a little shopping. The next time that we came through the gate they scanned our tickets again. It didn't cause any kind of 'red flag' in the scanner gun acknowledging that the tickets had been used for a second time. So what I am getting at is that what is to stop me from selling my tickets and then simply telling the track that I can't find mine. I could have them replace my tickets and just go sit in one of the many unoccupied ones. I'd never do anything like this. I'm just saying.....

When I bought my Martinsville tickets, I had the option to have them sent to me (for $12 I think :right:), or printing them out myself (for $5 ). I choose to print them out myself. They have a bar code on them :)

i believe ticketmaster also charges you to print out your tickets, as long as you purchase them online of course.

Wow. I didn't know about this since I don't go to concerts and other events where there's going to be large crowds anymore. In the '80's I went to every rock concert that came to Nashville, whether I liked the group or not. Now, I don't want anything to do with large crowds anymore. People are different, society is different....the staff has to pat you down, etc.

Anywho.....it just seems like every company tries to squeeze every last dime out of you if they can. It's really sad to think of how things used to be compared to today. We are doing this to ourselves and wonder why things seem so out of whack. Ok, I'll get off the stand now.

personally, i dont see the problem here. Yes ISC could probably come up with a solution to this problem that makes everyone happy but..............

THEY LOST THEIR TICKETS!!!! Who the hell loses several hundred dollars worth of race tickets? Damn, i got all kinds of junk i'd hate to lose sitting in my safe deposit box.

i'm not saying i don't agree with you, but when the day comes that you do lose your tickets you'll be raising hell because the track won't duplicate your tickets but instead they'll tell you to have to repurchase them.
