I've had to quit reading those darn Apple forums because it is nothing, but folks complaining about every little thing. If you reply with anything positive they do not like it. My screen is yellow, my battery life sucks, I can't keep a signal, mine constantly switched to edge, mine won't play videos, mine has a bad speaker and the list goes on and on. One guy even reported he had bought 10 3GS's and all over them but one had something wrong with them. I had to call BS, but that didn't go over too well! LOL

LOL! Try these:

"Apple is having trouble keeping the white 16GB iPhone 3GS in stock at its company-owned retail stores, reports Fortune. Based on checks of Apple’s online availability listings, the entry-level white model is sold out in 30 of the 41 states in which Apple has stores, and in areas with large numbers of Apple Stores, such as California, Massachusetts, and New York City, it is available in only one store. It is unclear whether demand for the model is that much greater than the other three, or if Apple simply underestimated demand. The report goes on to note that as of today, every state has at least one model that is completely out of stock."

I believe the above, I had to buy a 32 gig iPhone, but glad I did. It was for my daughter's 21st BD and she cannot be happier. The son got a 16 gig release weekend and he loves it. So far, I'd have to say the new iPhone is a home run. First app downloaded for both was SiriusXM.

PS: I'm glad I own a little AAPL

And this is different how? :D That's true at most forums that deal with products, dare I say even here.

As far as the warranty issue is concerned, I get applecare. I've turned in two phones already for malfunctions and have gotten a brand new phone for no additional charge. Applecare is pricey but it's the only extended warranty I'll buy. And that's true for the phone, the laptop, and any other Apple product I buy because it's that good.

Thanks, I had already found a couple of those, but thanks!

I was wondering how your son liked his and now your daughter has one too. I have enjoyed the fire out of mine. I can't imagine having anything else myself at this point. My son is looking to get one this coming weekend, but I think he is going to likely get a 32 gb because he likes to store movies and music.

I too have enjoyed the SiriusXM application and listen to it more than I thought I would.

It is different in that everyone there is so freaking defensive! One point I was trying to make is that many folks that don't even have problems are now looking extra hard and have become paranoid that their phone is inferior or defective because so many have made all these huge claims. OH GOD, you swear I had cut them all with a knife. It is one thing to complain about an issue, but to make blanket statements that all these phones are defective and inferior is just nonsense. I've never seen that sort of attitude on this forum except by a select few and usually they back away. Not over there it is like gang busters.

I regards to Applecare, my only issue with it is that it only protects again hardware failures etc. If you drop it or spill something on it, they aren't going to do diddly squat for you. However, they are good about sending you a new phone if something hardware wise goes bad. This Squaretrade on the other hand just send you the money to replace it, so that works just as well in my book, though Apple would overnight you a phone where you'd have to wait up to a week for Squaretrade to send you the money. My only concern is that it says they will do this only if they can't fix it, which means you are taking a little bit longer period than a week because you'd have to send yours in for them to try to repair it, then they would make the determination rather to pay you for the phone or not. Seems some have used it and they all claim they have paid like a slot machine even in the case of droping them in water or running over them in a car and those things Apple won't cover.
