Not much to sink your teeth into this weekend in college football. Actually, the biggest game of the week might be going on right now. Miami and Virginia Tech are battling it out for first place in the ACC's Coastal Division. I suppose South Carolina and Florida could be an interesting game. Don't know if Spurrier can actually pull it off, but I think it'll be a lot closer than people think. I'd definitely take the points (21) if I were a betting man. Texas at Kansas is a decent match-up I guess. Don't expect KU to put up much of a fight though. Other than that, not too much going on. I get to catch my breath with Tech having a bye week before their big game next week at Oklahoma.

Pretty unexciting indeed. Oh well, after this week, the rivalries start to happen, and then the championships coming up. I won't be around Saturday, so it's probably an okay Saturday to not be beached on the couch all day.

I just can't seem to get excited about any of the games. The ones you listed are the best ones, and none really do it for me.

Well I was completely off-base in thinking that Florida/S. Carolina game would be closer than expected (luckily, I didn't bet on it!). That Gamecock offense is a joke. I'm not sure I understand the strategy Spurrier used in switching his 2 QB's in and out every play. How can you expect to develop a rhythm that way? I've seen QB's switch in on every other series, but every other play?

Florida is a scary team. I picked them preseason to win the BCS title, and they might be the favorites to do just that right now. They could put up 100 if they want to next week against The Citadel. I'm still confused as to how this team lost to Mississippi at home earlier in the year. How in the world did that happen?

Florida will beat Alabama in the SEC title game! As for the Ole Miss game, they just didn't take them seriously and Ole Miss played a heckuva game! It happens. The Gators have been decimating everyone since that game!

I picked Auburn...

I wouldn't go around admitting to that...

Did you watch that LSU game last night? I was watching the Oklahoma State game, and I kept seeing the score on the ticker...I can't believe they came back and won from a 31-3 deficit. 30 points in the 4th quarter, wow. I hear the stadium was practically empty, too. Not many people stuck around to see the comeback.

I'd like to see Oregon State in the Rose Bowl against Penn State. See how the matchup goes this time.

Oregon State in the Rose Bowl would be awesome. It would mean that USC would probably go to another BCS bowl and play someone outside of the Big Ten, probably a SEC or Big XII school. I'd love to see USC play someone like Alabama or Texas or Oklahoma...or maybe even Texas Tech (though I'd rather Tech be in the title game!). We've seen USC beat up on Big Ten schools, whether it be Illinois last year or Ohio State this year. Let them play someone else!

That was a remarkable game. They couldn't have played much worse for three quarters. Down 31-3 to Troy!

While I was watching other games on TV, I kept seeing the score get closer until LSU pulled ahead. Big sigh of relief!

"I've been eighty-sixed!!! What took them so long?"

In Greg Robinson's four years at Syracuse, he led the Orange to an overall record of 9-36 with a 3-25 total inside the Big East. This was Robinson's first and only head coaching job to date...good luck finding another one after that disaster.

Randy Edsall from UConn is a hot name being thrown around to replace Robinson at Syracuse. He'd be good, but I'd take a good look at Turner Gill as well. The guy can coach...he has Buffalo bowl eligible for the first time since they joined Division 1-A (now the FBS) in '99.

Let's send Rich Rodriguez back to the Big East.:hah:

Please wait for my Buckeyes to beat them and then send him back. :D Seriously I hope they beat them. I know Michigan will come to play this is their bowl game.

There's no excuse if Ohio State loses that game. Michigan doesn't belong on the same field as them. This is a team who lost to Toledo, a 2-8 MAC team. That said, however, enjoy it while you can. Michigan isn't going to be this bad for too long.

As a Buckeye fan, this game for some reason scares me. I do not know why. I hope we can score 20 points the first quarter and be done with it. :yesshake:

As said earlier, this is Michigan's bowl game.

I agree they should beat the shit out of them, but who knows. Its a rivalry game. There was no way Pitt should have beat WVU,but it happenes. I'm not comparing last years Pitt team to this years Michigan. I'm just saying things happen.... Think Stanford/USC. That Stanford team was terrible too. I do not go on the notions of who beat who. Last year Michigan wasn't that great. They were better than this years team, but they lost to App state and everyone made fun of them. What did they do....... They went out and beat the crap out of Florida. They put a beating on that team and if it wasn't for a few Hart fumbles the score would have showed that. Anyway thats why I never take stock in who beat who.

Yeah I realize "anything can happen". But "anything" usally doesn't happen and shouldn't happen. You have to take stock in who beats who, hell that's a large part of what the BCS is based on. If you didn't take stock in who teams beat, Ball State might be your number 1 team right now.

Again, there's no reason Ohio State shouldn't beat Michigan by 4 TD's. It's not like Toledo is the only blemish on their record. I mean, they barely held on to beat Miami of Ohio, and it's not like Big Ben is their QB anymore. Michigan has lost 6 of 7. They are a horrible, horrible team this season. The game is in Colubmus. Yes, it's a rivalry game, but I find it laughable that so many Buckeye fans are worried about this one. For as much as people want to tear Rich Rodriguez apart, there sure seems to be a lot of people who are still scared to death of him. Just wait until he gets his own guys on that roster. Then there'll be reason for concern.

So enjoy it, Ehilbert, no need to be cautious. Ohio State is gonna pound them this weekend.

Thanks for the pep talk. I appreciate that. Not all Ohio State fans are cocky. I certainly am not one of those. The Michigan game is different. Those kids will come to play. I'm not and have not been scared of Rich Rod. When they lost to Pitt I knew not to be scared of him. I think he is a great coach and he will turn it around. You see I'm from WV. I was born there so I know some things about him and he is not the ass eveyone is making him out to be. I did lose some respect for him when he called Pryor and told him he was going to Michigan before his own team. Thats just wrong.

I know you say "Anything" shouldn't happen and usually doesn't,but I have to steer you back to last year. Thats when "Anything" and "Everything" did happen. What I mean about basing on who beat who is I don't care if they got beat by Toledo. This is a new game and a new day. Like I said just because Stanford beat USC didn't mean they would beat Oregon. Thats what I meant buy that. I know how the BCS goes and yea thats based on who you play and beat.

I have a feeling that USC might be left out of a BCS Bowl bid if Oregon St manages to win out. There are too many good teams that are above USC right now. It's good that they lost early, but they haven't gotten the love from the voters like Texas and Oklahoma have...:right:

If Oregon State wins out that would be cool. If USC wins out they will deserve a BCS game over Ohio State and over those non BCS teams. It would be nice to see USC take on a Texas or Florida. The fact that they kicked Ohio States ass shows they deserve one over them. It will be intresting to see how it all shakes out.

If USC expects to be taken seriously they are going to have to win all their games. Scheduling some stiffer competition for the non-conference games would help too. No Ohio State and Notre Dame don't cut it. They need to play some good teams from the SEC or Big 12. It's not USC's fault they play in a weak ass division, but it is their fault that they lost to Oregon State. With the talent USC get year in and year out that should never happen. Sorry, but USC deserves nothing.
