My last couple of cars were stick. It's fun for a while, then the idea of being lazy sounds good. It was nice not having to work to get around for a while, but I miss it sometimes.

I can drive anything.

I haven’t owned a car with a manual transmission since 2007.

I really don’t own a car now. I just use my girlfriend’s car when I’m home.

My semi has a 10 speed manual transmission

This is fun. I don't know my list as thoroughly as you but it's something like this:

93 Pontiac Bonneville - My first car at 16.
95? Chrystler Caravan - Bought from a friend's neighbor, only lasted a year at most.
00 Pontiac Bonneville - I loved the first one so much I got another used one.
05 Chevy Cavalier - This is the car I was driving during my little police run in.

Bought my 1st car ('70 Duster) for $225. Had it towed to my house, got it running, and fixed the body. Put alloy wheels on it. Had it for a year, and blew the engine. Sold it for $275 to the repair shop that towed it away.

I have driven a stick shift exactly twice. On one of those occasions I managed to get to second gear. On neither occasion did I not stall the car. Hated every moment of each drive.

I had an '86 Mustang and a '94 Isuzu pickup that had stick. The bad thing about it was during stop and go traffic at rush hour...it really does work out your legs!!

Like Hectic, I too got lazy and the vehicle I own now is automatic.

I mentioned earlier that BMW and other makes have gone to the clutchless sequential shifters, and aside from how well they shift, they have the advantage that you can leave them in auto mode if you want.

But talk about a workout; I had an older BMW K75 motorcycle with a hand clutch that had super-high tension and a ridiculously wide span. Lots of fun on a Friday rush hour commute.

I have no trouble with stop and go traffic. Most of the stop and go traffic I see is really slow roll traffic. I can stay in 2nd for that. Every once in a while traffic comes to a complete halt, and I just shift to neutral. The clutch in my Miata is pretty light, and my legs are quite strong from all the bike riding.

The biggest trouble I have is with valets, oil change places, tire places, any place 20 somethings have to drive my car. They usually have one guy on hand who knows how to drive stick, but sometimes he's out. Several times I've been asked to drive my car into and out of the oil change bay. I watched a guy stall my car 3 times at Costco the last time I got tires. He was their official stick guy, but he was nervous.
