Look, I feel parking a driver for a race has got to come from a complete heinous violation of rules (i.e. drugs etc).
Having been a Spencer for a long time I know how bad it sucks to have your guy sit for a race. And taking that incident (Busch/Spencer in 2003) as an example here, Gilliland
did exactly the right thing in NASCAR's view based on Spencer ruling.
Had Gilliland done nothing after Juan jacked him up a couple times and punched Juan in the nose after the race he would have been parked the next week, instead he takes it out on the track and only gets 5 laps and goes on to race another day.
I aint saying either is right, just shows how sometimes NASCAR gets things bassackwards.
