Bubba's commercial breaks on Friday's Sirius show

Ouch.

I like when he takes the long interviews, but this is like watching a movie on TNT or TBS.

I think this is now five commercial breaks between 5:30 and 6:25.

Three of those were between 5:30 and 5:55. One was around 6:15 and another one now.


Still, I like "going long" and i'll take the short segments at the end of the show.

I used to think it was all SIRIUS who decided how much time to have for ads during the shows, but I really question it. It baffles me why Bubba has such longer breaks than Howard. Plus they are far more frequent. I think Bubba might be in charge of this is my guess. But not sure.

Someone said how Howard doubles up on breaks, where Bubba is supposed to take two breaks every hour. In 2006, he was good about this, then eventually slacked off.

I haven't actually timed the breaks, but could the news updates be part of the effect? Remember, Howard's live show is the only show on the channels which doesn't insert Howard 100 News updates into every break.

My other theory is that when Bubba takes more breaks than he should after 12:50 PM ET, that obviously translates into very short show segments. Last week, he came back from break, played a bit, said something about "don't bitch about this, cause I ran way long earlier" then went off to another break.

Maybe these shorter show segments are some sort of mindfreak. You'll hear commercials, Bubba talk for 10-15 minutes or so, then another commercial break. In your mind, that could all be blending together as one big break.

It's happened to me. I'll hear commercials, zone out for a bit, then hear Bubba go back to break.

Don't get me wrong, I love the super long segments.

oh yeah, sam simon did nothing for me either on friday.

Was there a Hootie update? Because I was worried and wanted to know if anything had changed from the day before but I missed the show.

They need to dedicate the last hour to Hootie kinda like how Stern does the news with Robin. Then we'd never be out of the loop with Hootie updates.
If only I could tune into the Bubba show and get Hootie updates. That would be sweet.
