That sucks. I totally forgot he'd be on today.
I'm kinda over him now though. Moved on to Ellis for 3-7 and I guess I've moved on on Fridays too since I forgot he'd be on. LOL

Sums it up for me right there. Bubba's show stayed good for a while after moving to terrestrial. It was when the fans started making comments about moving over to listen to Ellis that the show took a sh*t. It's almost like he said a big "f.u." to the satrad listeners.
can you blame him. he explained that last contract sirius offered him half of what he made the previous year. of course he only does 1 show a week for sirius, so its a win for him regardless.
ellis is ok at times, but I can't listen to him every day. I dont like hearing about MMA sh*t.
Oh I agree Bubba got a raw deal and Sirius should have treated him better but I'm not going to listen to a show I don't like anymore just because Bubba's a good guy and he got screwed.
I'll still check it out now and then. I'm hoping sometime Sirius will change its mind about him but I doubt it now that Ellis seems to be taking his fans.

Why can't the guys just talk amongst each other, and then segway towards "When Shit hits the Fan" style bits, just as it was back in the old days?

then today he mentioned that he doesn't care about selling bubbapalooza's or merchandise, yet he dedicates most of his friday shows to making radio that will sell bubba raw subscriptions.
if there's anything we know by now for sure, is bubba is ALL about selling sh*t. he should just admit it.
Your right about that. I've been listening to the show and I have to agree with you guys. it's terrible today. He is doing nothing the last 10 minutes. He's playing some stupid sounds and laughing. Thats it for me folks!
I tried to listen today and it was awful. I did catch a part of the bit that Ned did about MJ and i actually did laugh at what i did hear. "so Micheal did the moonwalk, whoop De fucking do, I don't see Neil Armstrong getting this much publicity and he actually walked on the moon". What i did hear of it was funny. But as usual i quickly turned the channel to classic Vinyl and as usual a Jethro Tull song was on. So i began digging around for some decent music. I don't care what anyone says, Jethro sucks as much as Blubba sucks. Sorry Blubba and company, I tried, AGAIN, and you failed, AGAIN.
The FU was to Sirius, but even some rational people seem to have a hard time making the distinction. And do you really think any of the Ellis shit made any difference whatsoever?
And yeah, the Janessa stuff was brutal. I don't think Howard and Bubba realize how much of the audience don't want to hear from porn stars.

Of course the Ellis stuff didn't make a difference. You can call into Howard's show and give a shoutout to "O&A XM 202" and it won't mean anything to him. It's the same with Bubba. It's like saying "Don't watch HBO movies, watch the HBO series or Real Sports, or whatever."
Bubba is right though. When you have a huge audience (and despite what you read off one forum, he still has listeners), you're bound to get various opinions. For every group who says one thing, there's another group saying the exact opposite.
I'm sure Jason Ellis, and every other radio show is the same way. I'm sure O&A are the same way. "Opie spent too much time talking about his weekend." "Jason Ellis shoud have spent longer talking about the movie."
Of course Bubba is about selling stuff. He's a business. He has to pay his staff. Howard has sold stuff. I'm sure Ellis has products to sell, either directly or indirectly.

He wants the liquid ass, torture rack, shock the balls, shock the puss, phone the puss stuff to come back. It's just that Sirius gave him a shitty deal, terrestrial radio gave him a good deal, and we're here.

And the thing is, the audience is already unhappy prior to listening, and some don't listen to the rest of the show during the week so the expectations are too high. I think at this point it's impossible for him to please anyone that has high expectations with the Friday shows.
I didn't even know who Howard was unti 1997. I didn't really get interested (daily listener, web searches, etc.) until 1998 or so.
For me, Bubba circa 2006 was what Howard must have been like back in the WNBC and DC 101 days...just a wild guy that couldn't be contained...back before the FCC crackdowns that were plaguing the show from 2000-2005.
I still think that this situation is a temporary deal. Once Howard retires (whenever that may be), then Sirius should have a lot more money and certainly more timeslots for him.

Your right. We should be pissed at Sirius. To tell you the truth a lot of people are pissed at Sirius for the Bubba shit and the price increases. My whole beef with Bubba is the fact that almost every Friday we have a whore segment. He even said on his show he does that because he can't any other day of the week because of FCC shit. So because the FCC shit and the fact he has to have content for Bubba raw we have to sit through whore segments on Fridays. I understand why he does it,but I don't have to like it.
I don't hate Bubba. I was a huge fan of the show. I even went to the Cleveland Bubbapalooza and met them all. It's just a fucked up sitiuation. Bubba has to do what is right for his family and his guys. That means the show will suffer I guess. As for Sirius...... Who knows what their thinking is. They pay Mad Dog all this money and their is no way in hell he could have sold out a Bubbapalooza type deal around the country. It goes back to it being a NY thing I guess. Thats all that matters to Mel and we all know it. I may get frustrated with Bubba's show and all,but I'm still a fan. I just get a little annoyed at times.
Bubba was nail one on why I'm no longer a subscriber. They should have treated Bubba better. The continual price increases while dissing the talent were nails 2 and final.
Ellis is now dealing with the same sh*t. Sirius-XM is about a retarded ass company.
