Anyone use a blue tooth transmitter instead of the earbuds?

I have been looking online at the diffrent ones and there a lot to choose from. They range in price of $45 to $120.

I would love to ditch the wires when listening to recorded or wifi.

I do not use bluetooth with my Stiletto but that is the #1 feature I wish they would put in their next portable.

I do use bluetooth with my other MP3 player and use a set of bluetooth headphones. I love it. It is the greatest feature you can have. Eliminating the wires is the greatest feeling.

+1 on the bluetooth.

My Insignia MP3 player has it, and it is really cool.
The only downside is that you have another device to charge.

There are a few bluetooth transmitters you can plug into the 3.5mm jack and then you can use wireless headphones. I am wondering if anyone has tried any of them and how well they work.

I have not used any sort of 3.5 bluetooth adaptor but from what I understand, they work fine. Depending on the strength of the unit, you may not be able to put your device in your pocket but I cannot say for sure.

I know the built in bluetooth on my samsung player is pretty strong and I can use it all over with no problems.

Bluetooth

I used a bluetooth transmitter that plugged in to the bottom of the iPhone. Worked great with Oakley O Rokr Pro sunglasses. Now that the iPhone has stereo bluetooth supported, it works great without the plug in. While the glasses are spendy, they are cool.

Now I want an .mp3 player with blue tooth! Damn... more money spent.

I'm telling you, it is a revolution in music listening.

I really only use it for working out but even then it is great. to be able to just put your player in one of the treadmill's cupholders and start running is great. When I run outside I just put my player in an old armband and go--no wires and no worries. To not have to string your headphone cord through your shirt and then either pocket your player or hold onto it is worth whatever you spend on the bluetooth phones.

We're not supposed to wear earphones while in uniform so bluetooth earbuds would allow be to have an earphone in while not being too obvious.

Bluetooth earbuds are a no go. The only one's I've seen still have to have some sort of bluetooth receiver.

Most of the bluetooth phones are the "behind the neck" style. I use the behid the neck style that have the phones that go over your ears. All the "in Ear" types that I've seen usually end up getting damaged by sweat--if you're using them to work out.
I'f you're just walking around with them, then in ear is fine.

Damn... all the earbud ones have that idiotic mouthpiece thing attached to it. I just want 1 ear bud but I don't want to look like one of those idiots with a cell phone attached to my head.

Ihave a plantronics bluetooth that has a second earbud that you can attach with a very thin wire when you want to listen in sterio. I was using it to listen to howard 101 on my htc g1. I got into it so much my wife bought me the stiletto so I can hear all the stuff I been missing. Now the wires are pissing me off. If one of these bluetooth transmitters work good I will have it made.

Is he talking on the phone? Is he a dork trying to look cool walking around with that in his ear?

Nope, just listening to Howard and Bubba on my stiletto.... and he's still a dork

There are limitations to all bluetooth devices but they are usually very reasonable. most can transmit about 30 ft. Just make sure that your transmitter will transit in A2DP for better sound quality. Bluetooth will always work better indoors than outdoors and depending on the stregth of the transmitter, you may or may not be able to pocket the device, listen in a different room than your device, etc.

I would buy one, amazon has them for very reasonable pricing, and try it. Please post a review if you do because I'm sure other DRC'ers and SL100 and SL2 users would love to get into the world of bluetooth.

im definately getting one. If they work it would fit my listening syle so to speek. In my mind I would guess that they wouldnt be that great for hard core music fans, but for talk radio that you cant get out of your vehicle because you have to hear what is next, I think this might be the way to go without haveing wires get in your way and to look as inconspicuous as possible.

thanks for everyones input. I think I was on the edge and just needed a little push.

I am more than happy to be the guy to push anyone over the edge to buy a new gadget. More than happy.
