I'm looking to upgrade my online player to premium, but I've heard that if I do that, the Best of XM channels won't show up anymore. Has anyone asked Sirius why? I like hearing the XM Home Ice channel and want to upgrade to premium, but if I do, I lose ability to listen to Home Ice online?? Anyone have any info on this?? Thanks a lot.

This shouldn't be the case. Upgrading to a Premium SIRIUS Internet Radio subscription would mean that the sound would be clearer, more like CD-quality. The standard SIRIUS Internet Radio subscription runs at 32 kilobits per second. Upgrading to a Premium SIRIUS Internet Radio subscription would enable sound to be heard at 128 kilobits per second.

Yes, i know it shouldn't be the case, but there have been reports of numerous people signing up for premium internet and after doing so, the "best of xm" channels were not available on the online player. Was wondering if anyone has heard of this?

You might have heard that from me.

I had best of XM online before, but then I upgraded to Premium Internet Radio, and lost Best of XM. Calling Sirius and emailing them heeded no results. Still waiting for a fix on this, I paid more and got less. Aside from the rocking sound quality online, I suppose. I still do enjoy that.

I can't believe this issue hasn't been talked about more. I'm wanting to pay the extra $2.99 a month to Sirius for premium internet, but can't do so because for some reason, it takes away all the "best of xm" channels if I do. Has anyone heard anything about this issue? I've e-mailed Sirius about this and never got an answer.

I just recently ponied up and got the premium internet. Three part harmony now - "What took you so long?" Anywho, I use the Yahoo widget and the Best of XM channels are there and working fine.

That's good news, I'll check that out. Are you sure you're getting Premium sound quality using the yahoo widget? If so, I will be signing up for Premium.

Yes I am. If you already have the widget installed, you may have problems getting the premium stream after you make the change. My workaround: Use an incorrect username or password. Reload the widget and, of course it will be unable to log you in. Then put in the correct info, reload and voila! SWEET sound! One thing - the talk channels stream at 49k but still sound pretty good.

Thanks. I just signed up for premium internet and I also checked the Sirius online player and it looks like Sirius has fixed the issue and now Best of Xm is showing up for premium suscribers.

Is there something I should do?

I am not receiving "Best of XM" (and never have) on my Sirius online player. ( I am a premium member also)

When I called to sign up for BOXM they told me it wasn't available online??

I did the work around and my channels were finally updated but still no Best of XM....Ugh.

After being told by a Sirius customer service rep when I first called to get the Best of XM that it WASN'T available online and reading the post here, I called them today and asked them again.

They told me it was available and "resent the signal" out and now I have it online.

Now I know why I love this forum so much.

I still have a problem and I've called Sirius three times to address it to no avail.

I think it has to do with the order in which you add the service.

I had premium internet radio first, and then added Best of XM. I've NEVER seen the best of XM channels via the internet, not through my Stiletto on wifi, not through the Sirius.com web player, not through the Yahoo widget, not through StarPlayr.

I am beyond annoyed that I am paying extra to hear XM and can't get it on my "premium" internet account. I'm even more frustrated that nobody at Sirius seems to be aware this is a problem or care about it.

Have you considered cancelling the premium internent then re-adding it again?

I had Premium Internet Radio long before I got the Best of XM add-on (last week) and as soon I activated it in the car, the channels popped up in my Sirius Internet Radio player.

I would take IdRatherBeSkiing's advice and call up Sirius and cancel your Premium Internet Radio and then re-sign up (make sure you tell the CS rep what you're trying to do [that way you can get it all done in 1 phone call]).
