I just read that Benson is not returning in 09 at all. I knew he was leaving BDR, but I thought he and Chip were going to Red Horse Racing or somewhere?

Definately going to miss him. He mentioned in an interview that he didn't know if he wanted to come back...had some other things he wanted to do. He's leaving while at the top that's for sure.

Yea, he said he wants to get his modified running faster, he is another true racer.

JB's one of my favorites. He didn't get a real break with Roush back in the 90s. That win at Rockingham was one of the best ever...:)

That win at Rockingham was so bitter sweet for me. Im a diehard Martin fan and Johnny was my second favorite.

Mark has had his fair share of wins. Johnny had come up short a few time before that, so it was good to see him win...:)

Do you remember what race it was where JB was leading the race in an unsponsored car? I'm thinking Daytona, but it could have also been The Brickyard...:right:

:)

Both great races. Talk about someone who could have done better with the right team...:)

If I remember right, DJ won that Daytona 500. Kicked of a great year for Bobby Labonte...:)

I just saw this from David Poole's blog site. So, I guess JB is coming back?

Johnny Benson completes 2009 deal

Johnny Benson, the 2008 Truck Series champion, and crew chief Trip Bruce have officially found a home for 2009. They'll race next season for Red Horse Racing as a teammate with David Starr.

Sorry about my prior post, I didn't know who broke the story first. I just happened to read about it on David's blog and remembered it was also talked about on here.
