Satellite radio is the shit, I claim I'm gonna cancel and all that shit because at the time I am pissed. This is why I was against the merger when I became unhappy with Sirius because of the same thing they are doing now I had a choice,XM so now I guess I have to bite the bullet and take it as it is. I would still recommend Satellite to anyone.

Well I think you feel like a lot of us do, that is a great summation! I sometime still wish they would have never merged, but understand the reasoning as to why they did. Still it was nice having both or having a choice. Now like you said it is Sirius XM or we have to find another alternative beyond sat radio.

I think your common sense approach is a good one as I agree with it anyway. LOL

I like radio with personality (DJ's) otherwise I would have stayed with my boring MP3 player.
This is why Slacker is really not an option for me. I have an online account that I RARELY use.

Yeah that is my one real gripe with Slacker is that it truly doesn't have any personality, but they have some great music channels.

I've been meaning to try Slacker out myself, but I'm in front of a computer all day, I'd rather not get my music in that fashion. Sat urban offerings are still vastly superior compared to the local free offerings where I live. I'm not into downloading music either, so sat is still the best option for me. I think it's still too early to tell how things will pan out in the hip hop genre.

ABBA Radio returns for limited encore
ABBA Radio returns for limited encore - Orbitcast
WTF:bigahh:

It's a limited encore. I don't quite understand the concept of a "Love" channel. I guess what it really is in reality is "Soft AC" (very slow tempo pop and R&B).

What they should do is have a Sirius Shuffle that can be replaced for these limited engagements for ANY artist. The only single station that should exist is Elvis for various reasons. All others, including Scott's crush, Springsteen, should have limited runs not going over a month (not matter how "popular" they are). In fact, they should talk to big artists with new releases coming out around those times and work with them. Everyone from Madonna to Metallica, Abba (although I think they are spent now) to ZZ Top. If fans are really obsessed they might not subscribe but they always offer the 3 day promo, and of course the music channels should all be open. They listen for 3 days and if they like not only the channel but the service they subscribe later....but no...make sense to only draw in Springstreen fans and AC/DC fans. AC/DC's great, but I can't imagine keeping that channel is keeping subscribers....but Sirius knows they are doing, of course!

VinnyM27 you seem to be an EXTREMLY RATIONAL person but c'mon now I see this is a limited run but It's STILL a slap in the face. I can no longer hear Cool Mo' Dee "Wild Wild West" on Satrad but I can listen to fuckin' ABBA? Shit ain't right:soapbox:

I liked the first run of the Abba channels and it made me think of possibly investing in some of their music (as well as the solo albums by the girls). It was actually supposed to make me want to see that movie but it did quite the opposite. Anyway, that's what a good single artist channel should do....give listeners an open window to discover the artist. If anything, I'm burnt out on the artists with their single stations (even though I like them all expect Greatful Dead but I think they finally got some sense and that is gone, right?).

Yes, it is a rational idea...will Sirius ever agree to it...Nope! Why would they want these single artists to help the actual artists? But the thing is, the customers listening would like it, too. I can't imagine anyone besides a real tool wanting to keep all these single artists channels going while genres are not playing. Although when these channels are gone, it will only be slight variations on rock channels that already exist which plays...yeah, Scott!

I'm surprised backspin hasn't come back yet. From everything I've been reading, it's a big favorite among satrad fans.

Well I would not hold my breath! We've had many channels in the past that got just as much feedback and they never returned!

They really should review user feedback more closely than they do.

I was so pissed off when this channel "disappeared" a while ago, like what the f*ck??? as of now, there's only 2 rap channels which blows. esp since there are like 5 R&B channels plus a million pop channels, and sirius/xm is pretty much totally dedicated to rock music.

I knew that this merger wouldn't benefit consumers. cuz so far, all I'm getting is less channels (no more nba anymore) for the same price.

of HHN and shade45, I listen to shade 45 more. but there's no way I can listen to shade 45 all the time, cuz they play like 1 good song, then like 10 sh*tty ones. and there is way too much 50 cent on that channel, when everyone who knows anything about rap music knows 50 cent hasn't had any songs that have been hot since his debut album back in 2003.

guess I spoke too soon, cuz a day later, its announced backspin is coming back. which is great news, cuz it was my favorite of the three dedicated rap stations.
