Authorities say Woods has been seriously injured in a car wreck in Florida. The Florida Highway Patrol says the PGA star hit a fire hydrant and a tree as he pulled out of his driveway early Friday, Nov.27, 2009, in his 2009 Cadillac sport utility vehicle. Woods was taken to Health Central Hospital. His condition was not immediately known, though the news release said his injuries were serious. (AP Photo/Andrew Brownbill, File)

The Florida Highway Patrol said Woods, 33, hit the hydrant and a tree after pulling out of his driveway in his 2009 Cadillac sports utility vehicle.

The patrol reported his injuries as serious, and that he was taken to Health Central Hospital. His condition was not immediately known. A supervisor in the emergency room said Friday afternoon that Woods was not a patient there.

The report said alcohol was not involved, though the accident remains under investigation. No one else was in the car, patrol spokeswoman Kim Montes said.

Woods, who has won 82 times around the world and 14 majors, returned to his $2.4 million home in the exclusive Isleworth subdivision near Orlando earlier this week after attending the Stanford-Cal football game, where he tossed the coin at the start of the game and was inducted into Stanford's sports Hall of Fame at halftime.

He had traveled to China and Australia earlier in the month, winning the Australian Masters on Nov. 15.

Woods was to host his tournament, the Chevron World Challenge, on Monday at Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, Calif.

He won six times this year after missing eight months recovering from reconstructive surgery on his left knee. Even though he failed to win a major, Woods said he considered this a successful year because he did not know how his knee would respond.

2:30am ???

I halfway think the police covered up the drinking issue. I wonder if stories will come out that he was at a such and such club late that night. I hope this comes out not to be the case.

Strange story for sure... He's married to a model from Sweden... why would you go anywhere at 2:30 a.m.? :right:

Getting away from the angry wife that just bashed the back window of your car with a golf club after telling her that the stories coming out "may have some truth to them..." Speeding out the driveway fast enough to hit a hydrant and a tree? What was he speeding from? She heard something from inside of the house, came out and smashed the back window of the car to get Tiger out. Wow, she's real prepared. Hears something outside and decides to investigate it with golf club in hand, only to see her hubby in trouble waiting for her daring rescue thru the back window of the car -- following a minor accident. Riiiiiiight. I love when folks try to make up a crazy story that starts showing holes - they never work out.

I hate to think that Tiger can get himself caught up in something like this, but the timing of a few events is interesting:

"The accident came two days after the National Enquirer published a story alleging that Woods had been seeing a New York night club hostess, and that they recently were together in Melbourne, where Woods competed in the Australian Masters. The woman, Rachel Uchitel, denied having an affair with Woods when contacted by the AP."

"Uchitel said she was in Melbourne two weeks ago with clients and never saw Woods the entire time she was there."

New York night club waitress that just happened to be in Australia the same time as tiger... Hmmm.

Spin on Woods’s Story Takes On a Life of Its Own

By LIZ ROBBINS
Published: November 28, 2009

When the most visible athlete in the world is involved in a strange one-car accident in the middle of the night steps from his home — and offers no immediate explanation to answer the conflicting and swirling reports — the narrative can take on a life of its own.

What leads PTI on Monday? Whatever big thing goes down in the NFL over the weekend, or this strange story?

Either way, this thing has some traction.

Howard should have Mike Walker on the line Monday morning since the enquirer broke the initial story about some funny business that might have been going down.

Must be nice to be able to tell the police/investigators "not today, let's talk tomorrow". Guess he needs another day to meet with Nike and get his story straight. Maybe he can trade notes with Kobe Bryant. A big ring purchase in Tiger's future?

He should have stayed single.
A single Tiger Woods could have more asses in his lap than Santa.

George Clooney has got to be one of the smartest men on earth. No kids. Trades in supermodels like cars. Never married. Give me $10 million and any thoughts of marriage I might have would be immediately gone. Hell, give me a 50% pay raise and all my considerations of ever getting married would be gone.

Same for Derek Jeter. Star in New York. The Chooch-train probably never stops. Marriage is a post-retirement game.

Canada, eh?
Why does a "night club hostess" have clients that need to be entertained in Australia? Didn't Spitzer's hooker claim to be a waitress or hostess?

As this point this story should be on the Who gives a fuck channel.

To help you give a fuck, here's a pick of his wife:
