Hey Now

I didnt get to listen to much of the show today. Did they say anything else about Artie being "sick"?

"Sick" ? :crazy::rofl2::crazy::rofl2::crazy::rofl2:

Sorry forgot for a minute that addiction is a sickness.

Come on James. Hold your horses (Beth-pun not intended) until he gets back. If you bash too hard now, you'll blow your wad prematurely.

You know he'll be in tomorrow to get his stupid plugs in.

This guy really needs to leave the show already. It just fucks up the flow of the show. Now tomorrow will be one hour of Artie making up lies about why he was sick.

I bet Artie will invoke the old "flu" excuse and that he had to go to the doctor to make sure it wasn't "swine flu" and yada, yada, yada.

While, the reality is that pleading guilty to DUI probably sent him on a tailspin and back to the old ways.

Oh HELICOPTER MIKE, WHERE ART THOU?

How about giving Artie the benefit of the doubt? He just did a benefit and maybe he is really tired. Bottom line give the brother a break.

The problem therein that logic is this: Artie needs to pick one or the other. If his job with the Stern Show is his bread and butter, he needs to make that a priority and if he can't show up for that due to other bookings, he needs to quit those sideshows.

I know if I want to get another job, I need to fill out a "Supplemental Income" form for my job. They want to make sure there are no conflicts of interest and that my "main" job is priority that should not be interfered with by other revenue streams.

It's not fair to Howard, it's not fair to Sirius, and by all means, it's not fair to the paying subscriber.

And if Artie is for some reason more inclined to get sick than others, maybe a direct ISDN line wouldn't be a bad idea.

Meh... red dragons.

You're kidding right? Back to his old ways?

Artie has never stopped his drug use. He didn't hire any Helicopter Mike. Maybe he did for a bit to please his mother but he was never cured.

You think Artie lost weight jet skiing? HAhahahaha!

You think that girl is really his girlfriend? Artie's only love is for drugs. He's too deep in it. That girl most likely is some escort or friend that he pays to pretend so that people in his life can think he's back on the straight path. Don't be naive.

I like Artie, but since he's been on his new health kick, theoretically these sick days should not be happening anymore.

And the burden is on him to make us believe he's not using. He's deceived Howard, the crew, and the listeners far too many times that we never really know what he's up to. I really do hope he is just sick and sticking to turning his life around. But he doesn't have the greatest track record.

Tell the you aint my brother brother to man up and get his fat unfunny azz to work or hit the bricks.

I actually would prefer he hit the bricks, but that's just me.

Oh, don't get me wrong. In some weird, warped way, Artie's frequent absence and oddball calls in sick somehow add to his legend.

I love Artie on the show, want Artie to stay on the show but Artie is gonna do what Artie's gonna do.

Granted, Artie doesn't miss EVERY George Takei visit, but he sure misses A LOT of them. I think they mentioned it on The Wrap-Up Show once a while ago, that Artie's absences couldn't possibly have to do with real illnesses because they are almost always timed so that George is around to "fill in" for Artie. That way Artie feels less guilty.

You know, a lot of people have said this week of shows sucks or at are least sub par, myself included. Artie has been out all week. Coincidence?

Discuss. ;)

haven't listened yet today...art's still out?

if so, this is hard-core depression and addiction at play (I know, big news flash)
