Confirmed by two Stern staffers who attended. I say it's a good thing, wouldn't have been a good sign if he was "miraculously" better again.

Who didn't expect that.

Artie ain't at a rehab right now.

He'll come back in January and say that he was back on the stuff and blah blah blah.

Unless he goes to a rehab he ain't off heroine.

I'm going to hope he was trying to get himself better and thats why he didn't attend.
Hoping....but the odds are aginst me I can't argue with that.

didnt he spend last christmas vacation in a "rehab" in florida where he walked around town with a baseball bat?

he must be in bad shape if they won't talk about it on the air.

Hopefully he's in a rehab but he has too many hanger ons around him who feed to his addiction. No way a lifelong addict will clean up in 3 weeks.

He's like a couple buddies that I have who have been quitting smoking for the 7-8 years I have known them. They can quit for a while but eventually they go back to smoking because the other guy still smokes. If he wants off the heroin he needs to completely get rid of his old life which is a huge thing to try and do.

I agree no way he can change his life. That mother seems like the biggest enabler of all.

He'll never change as long as he has them in his life.

I'd buy Artie a handle of Jack if I ever met him.

I firmly believe I am the master of my own destiny. If he doesn't have enough self control to overcome his demons, then he deserves everything that's coming to him.

I know that this sounds extremely harsh but that's just how I see things.

It did occur to me that maybe he didn't attend because he has been fired, or has quit after they told him he needed to start his vacation early....

I just hope Jan. 4 doesn't consist of:

Artie: Listen, I'm sure it's no surprise to anyone that I had a relapse, I was lying, wasn't going to the shrink at all, etc. But I'm 100% better now!

Robin: So were you in rehab finally?

Artie: Well, no, but...

I just hope if he does return that they don't spend more than 10 minutes on it because it'll be some great long story made up by Artie.

I was just listening to some clip on youtube and back then his excuse for not coming to work was that his doctor told him he had no immune system left.

Hitler or Artie Lange?

Sal put up a pic of Tim Sabean on Facebook, and in the background you can see outside, and it's bright as hell - what kind of dinner starts with broad daylight still out?

Funny, too, to see Jared in the background engrossed by his Blackberry - what a rockin' party, haha! (I'm sure it eventually was, I'm just kidding around. The staff deserves it.)

Dunno if the link works w/o signing up:

Artie's problem is that he doesn't want to quit drugs/alcohol. He just wants to use them without the consequences.

And so far he's been able to keep his job and pretty much has been given carte blanch to do whatever he feels like there (sleeping), has had the biggest gigs of his life, making tons of dough and scoring the hottest chicks.

I mean, as it seems now, drugs have done nothing to prohibit him from being successful.

Why stop now?

No wonder management told him to take time off.

Did any of you guys see the movie Ray that came out a few years back? That's what Artie needs, a hardcore rehab where they strap you to the bed. And no, this "strap you to the bed" isn't like that. ;) It's nasty stuff.

I think Artie has to want it. If he went through that hardcore rehab he'd be at it again.

That's why I question that girl he's with. A lot of people believe she's a friend or some girl he pays to give off the appearance that he's living a normal, clean life.

No way she wouldn't see Artie's crazy behavior if she was really with him.

Artie's clean, guys. I can prove it... I saw him buying soap in Hoboken.
