Same load of bullshit that people have been spewing for years, even with the current contract in place.

No terrestrial radio company is going to pay him what he thinks he's worth, nonetheless let him work a half assed schedule like his current one. He's not leaving his comfort zone at Sirius and will most likely keep a part time gig at Sirius.

It's interesting how people tend to forget about the dump button and the troubles with the FCC when they write those articles.

Also, i've seen KROQ so many times, i'm starting to think that was his station. KROQ is a station in Los Angeles. K-Rock (92.3 WXRK-FM) was his station in NYC. They did not like to say "K-Rock" to talk about their NYC station because the affiliate in LA would dump it, presumably because they didn't want to give their competition what they thought of as free airtime.

Oh that's funny. :jj: I had no idea that ever took place. I know "98 Rock" gets bleeped on Bubba's FM Best of, but not when he mentions them on air. Must be so they don't confuse the listening audience.

These stories are ludicrous.

what people forget is that Howard does 75% of his negotiating on air by constantly saying he is "done" or "sick and tired of it" and by insisting that he is "retiring because I just can't take it anymore."

He has been doing this for at least 15 years and always re-signs.

The minute I heard him start to complain about something going on a Sirius that he didn't like (this was a few months ago and may have been about the whole OPRAH thing) I knew his contract talks had begun.

Howard ain't leaving and he knows it. This is man with an ego the size of the earth.

He'd already be touting his last year on radio. He's not done.
