Anyone think nothing happens on the Sirius side tomorrow?

It just seems all we are hearing about is XM. The leaked channel info was for XM, DirectTV is XM not Sirius. What are the chances that we wake up tomorrow and the 90’s on 9 is still not on Sirius? Is Sirius Hits 1 really going anywhere? I haven’t heard any of the deejays on Hits 1 mention there going to be on Pop2K or 20on20 tomorrow. You would think The Morning Mash up would talk about it, considering other talent (COUSIN BRUCIE) has mentioned there moving channel numbers. It just seems that all the proof is from the XM side, but what is the proof that Sirius is changing at all tomorrow? The USA Today ad doesn’t necessarily mean Sirius is getting channels.

I think the lineup IS the lineup for both. It just seems like it's the XM side that's bearing the brunt of the changes.

It just seems odd. Sirius Hits 1 is one of the most popular channels on Sirius, yet none of the talent is saying anything. There obviously isn’t a gag order because other talent is talking. It just seems like the channel will still be there in the morning. Why would you bring 20on20 over and have two top 40 channels?

Maybe they're just assuming that this new channel update will be so major, that no sirius radios will work any more.

I think we'll have to wait until tomorrow to tell for sure... After the channel update (if any) we can browse through the channels and see what's changed...

I suspect Sirius will update the channel lineup shown on their website a day or two later.

We know from people posting stuff from what the DJs saying:

  • The Pulse will move to channel 12
  • Led Zeplin will move to channel 33
  • Disorder will be gone
  • Classic Rewind is shuffling its DJs
  • The decades channels will change name and do some DJ shuffling
  • Deep Tracks programming appears tommorow on The Vault(if that name will even remain)

At this point there is little reason to believe or hope that this will not be a 100% combined music lineup.

From the Sirius XM Q3 2008 Earnings Call Transcript . . .

". . . This Wednesday we will be improving our programming lineup by providing XM subscribers with some of the great content that SIRIUS has and vice versa. As we rationalize our programming offering, not only will consumers benefit from the improved lineup on both platforms, but we will be producing significantly fewer channels and the elimination of duplicated programming will result in the company saving millions of dollars every year.

"Subscribers will continue to receive the same number of channels, only now there will be even more desirable channels and with no additional costs. As a result of the merger, our even better content offering should help SIRIUS XM to reduce churn, improve conversion rates, as well as attract new subscribers . . ." -- Mel Karmazin

So the "vice versa" means Sirius will be receiving some XM content.

This would be a great time to add a full time Progressive Rock station.

Definetly , or hopefully MLB and or the BCS and XM exclusive bowl games that were on XM before the merger. For the XM subscribers I would hope they would get the NCAA Tournament for the Sports Side of things.

I would hate to see Disorder go but must admit it feels like it might be fading today; no promos just music and some repeats. I think there will be changes on the Sirius sats tomorrow. What's difficult to fathom is why XM Sat customers are getting the scoop and Sirius customers are not. I think there will continue to be differences between the two on the music side.

I think employees who have termination dates are less likely to keep secrets from people asking them questions. :)

:clueless:I can't imagine that things will be changing at Sirius. We have heard of very little, the decades will be changing.... some channels moving around.

I hope that the lineup is the same, we will see.:clueless:

Wow, losing Disorder is a big blow. That's one of the best stations on the dial, anywhere. But, still there is nothing, nothing at all about what is going to happen in the Sirius side of things? Ugh.
