Video is fine. There's just some... sounds in there.

I've actually found good songs like that, songs that did very well on the British charts, but not here.

There is usually at least 1 surprise on every VJ40 that sadchild posts the bottom 60 of that is a song that did huge here but not in the USA. The Rush catalogue is an example.

Jonathan Richman wrote Roadrunner and recorded it in April 1972 with his band The Modern Lovers. It was released as a single. Later in 1972 they recorded two more versions, Roadrunner (1st Version) and Roadrunner (2nd Version), which were actually the second and third versions. They were released on a single in Germany in 1977 and in the UK in 1981. In 1974, Richman recorded a solo version titled Roadrunner Once and The Modern Lovers recorded another version titled Roadrunner Twice. These two songs were released as a single in the UK , Australia and the Netherlands in 1977 and in the US in 1981. In early 1978, The Modern Lovers released Roadrunner (Thrice) as a single in the UK and the Netherlands. They certainly got a lot of mileage out of one fershlugginer song!

Here in New England, I only know the song from one experience.

I used to burn CDs for the owner where I work (now it's an Amazon playlist).

I couldn't find "Roadrunner" on mp3 at the time so he had me buy the CD for $12 just to rip that one song and put it on one of his mix-discs.

Personally, I'm not into the tune.

Roxy Music is in the R&R HoF (dead to HecticArt) and it doesn't look like we've ever once talked about them.

I guess they were primarily successful overseas.

How many songs do you know from them?
I count 3 and I like them all.
Love is the Drug
Avalon
More than This

I know Avalon, Angel Eyes, Love Is The Drug, Dance Away and their 1981 remake of Jealous Guy from John Lennon's 1971 album Imagine, This was Roxy Music's only number-one hit in the UK. It never charted in the United States. It should have.

Off the top of my head, I can only think of those three.

Lola Kirke, the daughter of Bad Company drummer Simon Kirke, filmed a video for her latest single All My Exes Live In L.A. in a California desert. The song was inspired by George Strait's 1987 number-one country hit All My Ex's Live In Texas. She just released a new version of the song featuring Swedish duo First Aid Kit. In the video, she strolls naked on a sidewalk in Nashville – but all her "good parts" are blurred. Dang!
