I saw in the Best Buy ad today that the were selling a radio that allows a la carte programming. I didn't think this was rolled out yet. Was this a mistake?

The Starmate 5 came out in the beginning of October. To date it is the only ala carte radio. It's shame it is not cheaper as it is a little pricey to give as a gift. Ideally, I would like to give a radio with a six month ala carte subscription. Also, it is more likely the person would continue the subscription at $6.99.

Yea, I saw that in their ad too. But the footnote still said $12.95. My guess is that it was a mistake. But I could be wrong.

The ST5 or Starmate 5 has been out for a few weeks now. You can get them at
SIRIUS Radio, SIRIUS antennas, SIRIUS accessories | TSS-Radio for $119.99. This is the only unit that is ala carte.
