All I wanted was some steak
Gotta get this off my chest... A.D., the AltNation DJ, is the most gratingly, annoyingly sucky DJ on Sirius. He sucked 6 years ago, when I first signed-up, and he's still there, and still doing the same "whiny slacker monotone stream of consciousness cool guy" crap that got old back in the '90's.
There's a choking stagnancy about SXM. You see it in the unchanging promo pics of the talent. The Spectrum's been running the same between-song messages with the same voiceover guy for the 6 years I've listened. Every Sunday afternoon, they present that insufferable Bob Dylan show "by popular demand". They've been saying this for years, and I'd bet anything that nobody's demanding it. Jake Foglenest (AltNation & XMU) uses the word "interwebs" in just about every sentence.
And of course, let's not forget the channels which were designed to be stagnant, such as Lithium. Hey, it's 90's Pearl Jam, and Soundgarden, and Nirvana, and Alice in Chains, and Pearl Jam again, and Nirvana again...
Oh, and the radios are stagnant, and the satellite broadcasting is stagnant.
