I've been listening to this for about an hour tonight. Pretty good, I think this is what they are going to do since they totally removed the Disco Channel.

Works for me, because I didn't listen to Disco everyday anyway, but having a show I can listen too weekly is great!

Shake it Up, Shake it Down, Move it In, Moving it Out, Move it all about!

That is cool. Do you know what time slot it was on or was it all night?

It doesn't work for me. I don't necessarily listen everyday but close to. I would say "classic dance" (disco,dance-pop,freestyle even break dance, if that is a genre) is my favorite genre. Imagine your favorite genre being played only during a six hour segment only on weekends, you'd probably not be happy. Also, imagine if they added "Barry Manilow" to this channel. That's right! "Copacabana" would never get played on the Strobe. Nor would "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" but that's Ok. From what I heard of the show, it seems like they are only playing the real basic with a few light surprises. Also, I would say that with the Strobe, I often preferred mostly the 80s stuff, especially the rarer 80s stuff like Cheri, D-Train (we'll probably never get played again since they fired him from Heart and Soul) and I'll sorely miss hearing Lime, who I discovered from the Strobe. I found a lot of great music there. What should have happened was that all the good stuff from both disco channels got combined but now....nope!

If this is the replacement, I'm complaining (well, complaining more).

Well actually with then removed Soundcapes all we had was a 6 hour program on Sunday afternoons. Though I didn't like it, I got use to it. So, I made do with it and was pretty happy about it. It was sure better than nothing and at least they were making an effort, because I understood I was probably a big minority for having that type music with its own channel. Southern Gospel was the same way, we had 3 hours on Sunday listening to Gaithers Homecoming Radio, but again you get use to and make do. I personally would rather have that than nothing at all, which they also could have done.

While there will be some that want a full time channel, I think most will be pretty happy at least having this show.
