That sounds like a pretty absurd claim. Even those of us that got it for Stern initially have found other things to listen to.
I could believe "60% of Sirius subscribers listen to the Stern channels", but not "only the Stern channels".
12 million includes the XM side of the house - How many XM subs really added the best of Sirius which has Howie???
I agree with that. Even if Stern was the reason you came to satellite, you found other things.
The other problem with the math is that many of us have (or had) multiple subscriptions. I usually had between 1 and 3 radios, but I was only 1 listener. So, 12 million listeners and 12 million subscribers could be two very different things.
I think the "Twitter Experiment" proved that Howard is once again lying about the actual amount of listeners he has left.
Or the amount of straight listeners he has. I listen to Stern, but I'm NOT signing up for twitter.

However, it's not a gay/straight issue. It's a mathmatical/truth one. If Howard had his self-reported 20+ million listeners, more than the few thousand would have signed up for the Twitter deal.
So, that means that either a very small amount of fans signed up to be a part of their failed idea, or that Howard outright lies about his audience numbers, and a sensible ratio joined Twitter because of the show.
Since Howard lies about so many other things, it's not so far fetched that he lies regarding his audience size. It's probably his biggest whopper over the years.

Really? I always thought the fact that both companies were on the verge of collapse due to poor financial planning was the reason. Hell, even after the merger, the lone remaining company still is bankrupt, and the stock isn't worth the paper it's printed on.

I doubt Howard listens much. I would suspect that 90% of the people that post in this forum know the 101 7:00 EST schedule better than he does.
