Hello. I just got a 2009 Nissan Cube with the upgraded Rockford Fosgate system. Being a Sirius subscriber I wan to put in a converter to get Sirius instead of XM on the in dash system. I called the dealer but they say that Nissan has not put out the accessory catalog for the Cube yet. Any suggestions? Thanks

I doubt Nissan will be providing a kit to change the stock XM to Sirius when they come out with their accessories catalog. Currently we do not have anything that will convert that in your Cube, but we are working on finding a solution for it. I will keep your info handy and notify you when we come up with a solution. How do you like your Cube so far?

Since the services now day are basically the same especially when you add the "Best Of" what difference does it make and why do you even need to worry about switching?

By the way why don't you give us a review of the Cube and take some pictures!

DAB has a great point! XM subscribers made out awesome on the "Best Of" package. And yes, please add some photos for us and let us know what you think of it.

I want to convert because I am a Sirius subscriber and I like the programming better on there. I don't want to have to pay extra every month to hear HS and others. I'll take some pics and get them up shortly.

I will still keep your info on file and notify you via PM when we get them in. I'm sure I will also start a separate thread about it too.

Well that is understandable, but right now that is your ONLY option until they release something, which maybe awhile. What is strange is that you'll pay for hardware, which end the end won't really save you much unless you keep it for years because the $4.00 per month, which is on special for $2.00 per month for 6 months isn't really that expensive. Likely a setup that would work will cost $70 to $100. That is a lot of months of BOS.

DAB makes a great point here. Factoring in the cost of hardware versus the cost of a sub is key for people that want to stay cost effective. But, the argument here is that it sounds like that doesn't matter to you and you want what you are used to. Our boos is really good at being aggressive with manufacturers of certain product and creating a demand for people like yourself. I will continue to keep an eye out for what you need.

Now can we see some pics please? I really like how unique the car is. I am a huge fan of micro cars too.

Yeah, which is why I have not one, but two Scion xB's. I have always liked Nissan's, but got away from them and went with Toyota when I got the Scion. I've been very interested in the Cube having watched it go from a concept vehicle. I also really dig the new Kia Soul and actually test drove one just for fun. Not nearly as roomy or comfortable as my xB.

So, yeah I want to see pictures and will eventually go test drive one for the heck of it.

Now the new smart cars... just not into those!

I like the way they look actually, but I think it's one of those things where the concept was better on paper than the actual car. I know there are some members on here that drive one and I don't want to offend them....................BUT the word SMART seems to be an overstatement for the car. I just don't think they are as efficient as they should be. And for the cost you should be getting more of a car, and no I'm not referring to the size when I say that.

I love Scions and if I had the need for a car I would buy one right away. Although the Cube and the Soul would make me think twice. The cars are way cool and are coming with a lot for what little you pay for. Same with Scion. Low sticker price but a lot of car! (again not referring to the size)

Hey guys, found this thread by doing a google search.

I am in the same boat. Looking at getting a cube (From an XB), and it comes with XM. I am a sirius subscriber and dont want to change because I have two radios, one in the xb and one in the house.

Looks like I am going to have to get all new hardware somewhere, cause I am not going to pay 12 bucks for my home radio, cancel my second subscription of 6.99, and get the 16.99 XM Best of Sirius package.

Dont get why some kind of better deal can be worked out for situations like this.

Anyway, if anyone finds a converter, please let me know.

The Cube is cute, the district attorney in one of our rural areas just got one and I was checking it out. Looks very nice, but I wouldn't trade my xB for it. However, if I lost my xB God forbid, I would certainly consider one of these as a replacement. However, my work xB has 28,000 miles and my personal xB has 39,000 so I won't be looking for a new vehicle for a long while. Love my xB's!

Now on to the topic, I personally just use a ExpressRC, I have a dock in each vehicle and just move it around. My personal xB came with an XM tuner, but I only used it for a short while because I didn't want to have to pay for a secondary subscription. I don't know about the Nissan's radios, but know there are many alternative to getting either XM or Sirius on the xB's using the Toyota adapters. Usually it takes a year or two on new cars to before PIE and others build these type adapters. So, I suspect you are going to be out of luck for while. This is why I prefer the PNP units, cause I don't have to worry about any of that compatibility stuff. Plug and Play, no matter what the factory setup is. Though I do understand some folks want that realy clean factory look, but right now XM is your only alternative for that.

I understamd bob's reason for wanting to go with the converter. My seld i like GM product and my next purchase will likely be GMC Terrain they come with xm i am a sirius subscriber, also up here in Canada the best of packages are not available. So i will likely end up installing the sportster 5 in my new vehicle even though the model i want likely will have factory installed xm.Hopefully by then a converter will be available for the terrain /equinox.
