Welcome to the 679th edition of Who Am I?, the weekly game where I dish out a daily clue to a subject and you have to guess who or what it is.

Every day, the clues get easier. The winner of this week's game gets a piece of my gratitude.

This week's subject is a CATEGORY.

Artists who had hits with a remake of a Supremes song. Among the others: Kim Wilde, Donnie Elbert, Vanilla Fudge and Jr. Walker & The All Stars.
ONE CLUE WONDER!

CONGRATULATIONS, 98!

This week's subject regards artists who have covered The Supremes.

Of course, the first clue was Phil Collins, who covered "You Can't Hurry Love" in 1982. His version peaked at #10.

My second clue would have been Reba McEntire. In 1996, her rendition of "You Keep Me Hanging On" charted on the dance charts.

Clue #3 was meant for Soft Cell. Many radio stations that play their 1982 rendition of "Tainted Love" play it in a medley with "Where Did Our Love Go?"

And finally, there's Kim Wilde. Up until 1987, she was a one-hitter with 1981's "Kids in America". But that year, she actually went straight to #1 with her rendition of "You Keep Me Hanging On".

New game next week!

Wow, I'm right? No fooling? I often say almost everything reminds me of a song – and thinking about Phil Collins songs led me to the answer. I didn't know Reba recorded You Keep Me Hangin' On, though. Here is Gloria Jones' original version of Tainted Love, written by Ed Cobb of the Four Preps and released in June 1965. In July 1981, Sire Records released promo copies of Soft Cell's remake, combined with Where Did Our Love Go. There was also a 12-inch single, 8:48 in length.
