While having apps in addition to hardware can't hurt, I am very grateful I do not need an expensive I-phone and and expensive data plan in order to listen to satrad music.

Which is why they should make the full service available on other 'lesser' phones for people who don't want an iPhone. Between retail and OEM, neither one is doing them any good, you need to be expanding your product. It wouldn't hurt to lower the price on a subscription. Slacker plus is $48 a year for 100 channels. With the hardware monkey off their backs, SiriusXM could be charging a lot less than that.

Since Canadian data plans are not cheap, $12.95/mo is a bargan. I don't want to spend $30/mo for a data plan on any phone to be mandatory to get content. I believe the internet subscription rate is discounted from $12.95 + $2.99/mo to $12.95/mo.

A bargain to whom? 12.95 is no bargain if the service isn't what you want. They took away all reason to pay when my top 5 stations were yanked off the air. Considering everything else the phone does, 12.95 sounds pretty steep for FM playlists and has-been shock jocks.

Definetly and with the Iphone you can pretty much do anything on it, and listen to MLB , Slacker , Pandora and a bunch of other things on there. If Sirius were to lets say dump the NFL or put commercials on the music then I would leave.

A bargain for me. I lost some of my presets and found others. It could be better but its better than the only realistic alternative up here (FM radio).

Internet radio is not an option for me since I am not willing to pay $30+/month for it to be run mobily. Also Pandora and Slacker don't work up here so they are a no-go too. Of course, there is still my car which could hook to my MP3 player if that is all I wanted to listen to.

If you have Sprint, you can get Sirius on their phones for like $10 a month

You know the way some people feel about AT&T? That's the way I feel about Sprint. I'll pass. :D

slacker and pandora are exellent alternatives to the satrad subs who were more interested in music.

so what are the alternatives to those who are primarily interested in news, talk, and sports? for all of the praise i see for slacker and pandora, those services hold no appeal to me and others because they lack that option in their services and that is the fatal flaw in their arguements.

some people wouldn't pay 30 a month just for a data plan for the iphone. since i'm no longer paying for my satellite radio, i have that expense freed up and i'm looking for just a data plan for the iphone. (no seriously, i'm looking for a data only plan. i just bought a used iphone from ebay don't plan on using it to call anyone but just for streaming only. if there is such a plan available, please pm me)

Even with the Liberty bailout, I think that some other company could scoop them up.
and still pay those high priced on air personalities and station name royalties while operating two non-competing non-sharing satellite systems? I think this economy's going to have rebound real quick, for that to happen.

Except Sprint doesn't have GSM. It's nice to be near a speaker and not hear a buzzing noise before every time the phone rings.

Speakers and phones can live in harmony with one another. :)

Sorry I can't help you. I'm busy creaming one out to the glory which is Slacker.

Non-Sharing? Yeah, because I can't get O&A on my Sirius radio. I can't get Howard on my XM radio. I can't get the same music on either radio.

I guess it is non-sharing.

In regard to sharing I meant reception, not content. Dual coverage from both satellite systems and all TER repeaters.

Reception was a constant tron in my side with satrad, and I had hoped the merger would expand that more than anything else.

I'm not trying to jump on the bashing bandwagon, but with all due respect thats not all true. Mel lied when he said "ALL" Sirius radios would be able to get the best of XM. My Sportster Replay can't get that. So yea thats not sharing. That being said.... now that the music channels for XM are gone there is notthing they have I want. Sirius subscribers got screwed on the best of deal. I did cancel 2 radios and now I just use my SL2 for everything.

Again I'm not about bashing Sirius. I enjoy it and I'm glad I have my SL2 lifetimed. I can understand though why some people did cancel. There are a lot of free streaming programs out there.
