Now I'm not trying to cut you Ohio State guys down or anything, but I do find something odd about the reaction to this Fiesta Bowl loss. Even though OSU lost, it almost seems like the Buckeye faithful is happy, maybe even relieved with their performance on Monday night. I think it just shows you how badly these last couple of bowl appearances (and the USC loss) has damaged their psyche. Earlier this decade, I doubt we'd have heard how proud OSU fans were of their team for their Fiesta loss. After all, they did blow the game with only a little over a minute left.

I was just attempting to point out how far Ohio State has fallen from grace in just a matter of a few years when the majority of their fan base is happy with and impressed by a loss. I just find that a little funny, that's all. It's a head-scratcher.

As far as Texas Tech is concerned, Mike Leach takes Texas' and Oklahoma's leftovers and is competitive each year in the very tough Big XII South. It's not easy to get high profile recruits to come out to West Texas when you have Big State U right there in Austin. I think it says a lot about Leach that he has been able to supplant Texas A&M as second best in Texas (TCU is up there too). Leach took an average roster at best this season and had them undefeated up until late November, and he ended up at 11-2. You're not supposed to win big at Texas Tech, but Leach has sure made strides in that direction. Tressel's roster has NFL prospects all over it, yet the Buckeyes are satisfied just to be competitive in a big game (recently).

Mississippi is not a bad team either. I'd call them third best in the SEC this year. You can have Georgia if you want, but I'd take Ole Miss no doubt.

Fallen from grace?

We have been in the last two Championship games (yeah, say we lost but we got there!). I think we have finished in the Top 5 at the previous four seasons.

Fallen from grace? :bs:

Fallen from grace?

When the fan base is happy just to be competitive in a big game, something has changed. But you're right, as a TTU fan, I'd love to have the results Ohio State has seen over the past few years. Playing in the Big Ten would be nice too.

Let me tell you this. The fan base is not happy just to be competitive. I was at the game and I saw the looks on everyones faces. I said I was proud of them because I am. I'm a Buckeye fan and I will stick with them through everything. I'm not an SEC fan and cheer for a confrence. I could give two shit less that the Big Ten went 1-6 in bowl games. I wanted Ohio State to win and thats it.

Fallen from grace??? I don't get you AJ. Teams that have fallem from grace are Nebraska,Notre Dame, Florida State,Miami and Washington. I'm not trying to rag on them its just the facts. So we lost two BCS title games in a row and we lost the Fiesta this year. Shit happens and we lost to elite programs atleast. I'm not saying Ohio State could'nt end up like the above programs I mentioned, but they have not fallen from grace yet. If Oklahoma gets beat tonight will you say they've fallen from grace? That will be 5 BCS games in a row for them. I know the Big Ten stinks right now and winning it doesn't mean much, but atleast Ohio State has won the confrence out right or shared it the last few years. By the way till this year it seemed like winning the Big 12 didn't mean much either because Oklahoma would get blasted in their BCS title game or BCS bowl game.

I know you hate Ohio State and I get that, but please choose your words wisely next time. Fallen from Grace is pure bullshit. Don't lump all Ohio State fans together. No one is happy. Alot of us just respect the way they played and it was nice to prove people like you wrong. They did not get blown out like you wanted. I mean now disrespeact to any fans of the above teams I mentioned. I'm just tired of Ohio State getting blasted by people who don't know the facts. One more thing AJ. I didn't put down your Texas Tech team. I have a lot of respect for those guys.

Perhaps "fallen from grace" was not the correct phrase to use. I apologize.

I will say this though. Outside of the Big Ten, I really doubt many teams fear Ohio State nowadays. Just five years ago, you couldn't say that. Maybe that's what I was trying to say. I don't know...I think I'm still in a haze from New Year's Eve.

No prob man. Let me tell you this though. I saw fear in the eyes of those Texas fans at halftime and I saw it in the fourth quarter. Again besides losing to Illionis Ohio State has only lost to National champs and elite teams(Texas) who could have been playing for the title. Maybe after this game teams won't fear them, but they may not take them so lightly. Give them time they will be back. By the way people will fear Terrell Pryor. ;)
