This has been a preset of mine for about 4 years, but I haven't listened all that often. I really enjoyed it this week, and will listen more now that Disorder is gone. Giving Underground Garage a promotion --> moving it from my "C" presets to my "B" presets. Good channel!

Cool

This channel had become one of my favorites from when we did WTD a couple of years ago. I don't get to listen very often, but I always enjoy it when I do get to listen to it...

I turned the channel on this morning around 3:30am Eastern and listened for the better part of the morning. About four hours worth. Great songs. Some I've never heard, but most of them I had. What's the deal with Elvis Costello, anyway?...

I did get to catch the first hour of the The Andrew Loog Oldham Program. I'm not to impressed by him. He's a little flat for my tastes, but he played some good music.

Overall, I give this channel five stars out of five. It was a preset before the merger, it will continue to be one after. It's even a preset on my XM Radio, too...

I've noticed that Underground Garage sounds better on XM than Sirius. Has anyone else noticed this?

I like this channel. It's a good complement to Deep Tracks when I want to hear something different or a little more obscure. UG does play some well-known songs, but it's a good mix. I was excited that this channel made it over to XM.

After listening to this channel for a couple of days I'm beginning to hear repeats. Another thing that somewhat annoyed me was this mornings DJ (I forgot who) sounded like he was talking in empty room. This along with his low key voice and accent made it very hard to understand what he was saying. It sounded for the most part like he was talking away from the mic.

This channel still rocks, but there has to be a few more 'coolest rock-n-roll records' out there to prevent hearing the repeats already.

I have listening to it, sometimes liking what they are playing, sometimes not. I have been waffling over it should make it as a preset, and decided no, but will keep it in mind for when I want something different.

I'm glad to see I'm the only one who didn't tune in b/c of the channel names. However, I am hooked on this channel now. I found it before the merger and am glad it made it. I don't know what happened, just tuned in one night and really enjoyed it. Great, great rock and roll channel. To me, this and Deep Tracks are the two best rock channels out there.

Sounds: 50s and 60s rock that does not suck, new rock that covers or is in the style of 50s rock

Positives: Huge playlist. DJs that are extremely knowledgeable about the bands and songs. Never stops rocking except for...

Negatives: Those knowledgeable DJs (especially Steven van Zandt the PD of the channel) can sometimes get overly chatty due to their passion for the music and the story they want to tell about it

Blastability: Very High

Overall: One of my favorite channels because of the high amount of music discovery I get from it, impressive presentation, and knowledgeable DJs.

If Rock At Random and Special X popped out a kid together, it'd be Underground Garage.

Believe it or not, that's a compliment.

This is one of those channels that try though I might, I just can't get into it. I've had a few times when I've listened and found it interesting, but then it would quickly fade away on me. I guess I am just not digging it!

Clearly this is a good channel on sat radio for those that get into this genre.
