Has anyone tried a XM to Sirius antenna adaptor? Basically it is an adaptor that allows a factory installed XM antenna to be used for a Sirius radio. The tss radio site indicates there is a loss in signal strength, but how noticable is it?
I use them in 2 vehicles. Unfortunately not the adapter from TSS, because it's too short to reach from my PnP to the where the antenna plugs in to the XM receiver on either vehicle. There's a guy on here user brianrwebb that custom makes longer ones if you need.
As for signal strength, I do get more dropouts, but not alot. I still get full strength in some areas, but others I may drop a bar or so. I think I get 2-3 drops on my way in to work now where I used to get 1.
Craig, thanks for the input. I mount my Sirius antenna on my dash so maybe I wouldnt see much difference. I also live in the flat and wide open Midwest so not alot of obstructions. It would be nice to have the clean appearance with the existing factory antenna.
